After all, the Irish waited out the Brits for 750 years without a timetable, the Spaniards waited out the Callifate of Fez for 700 years without a timetable and India waited out two occupations (Mogul & British) for more than 1100 years without a timetable. There is not one instance in world history where that contention holds water.

The Navy's newest ship, the USS New York, has been launched. 24 tons of steel from the World Trade Center was used in the casting of the bow of this ship. Governor George Pataki asked that the Navy name a surface warfare ship for New York even though state names usually go on submarines, and the Navy approved it. Here's the unique part. The last USS New York was launched on September 11, 1911. WOW, talk about appropriate!!! If you Google the USS New York you can see photos and read all about it.

Did the libs pay any taxes? Or do all of you just get money back due to the earned income credit...in other words you actually get "back" money you never paid...in other words you steal it from me. Isn't theft a crime?

Are they telling us that our military is that easily weakened? I was always of the opinion that our military didn't need everyone patting it on its collective head all the time in order for it to be effective. Are we now admitting, as a nation, that our soldiers are inherently weak and are only made strong by unanimous support by their countrymen?

John McCain just said, "It is critically important that our party continues to stand on the side of life."

ehhhh....WHAT?!?

Republicans stand on the side of life when they execute prisoners?

Republicans stand on the side of life when they go to war with every country they possibly can?

How could any Republican make that statement with a straight face?

Nice choice of words there. Like any Republican sides with life.

This made me laugh for a good minute, and then I wanted to strangle all of you.

And by "strangle all of you" I mean stand on the side of life.

And made more people hate America. Letting Osama go, leaving the Taliban intact in Afghanistan, and invading a country our own pentagon admits had no ties to 9/11 or al-qeada makes us safer how? Terror Attacks around the world have increased every year since we invaded Iraq. I am all for killing every single terrorist, Al-qeada member, and Taliban member in the entire world. I just don't see how the current war on terror is going to accomplish any of this? Does anyone out there actually want to make the world safer, or do you all want to stick with Bush and his failed efforts?

Boost your stats, guys. Like Reagan and Poppy Bush tried. Pick on Panama and Grenada. Steal all their bananas and declare victory.

It was the symbol of open immigration for many years. We wouldn't want to give the disenfranchised from other nations a false hope. At least maybe we should remove the plaque that says we welcome immigrants.

This is a broad question yes, but i want to hear what everyone else thinks.

We have an extremely corrupt central government where money gets you everything regardless of if you are a good person or not.

We have ally ties with Saddam and Osama, but when they decide to take the reigns and disobey us we go after them and make them terrorists.

We are very censored as a nation.

The constitution is not being followed as it was originally intended, we rarely have any of our original Rights.

It is actually an EXTREMELY believable conspiracy that our government is responsible for 9/11, as well as other terrosit attacks against the US (Okla. city bombing)

It's extremely difficult for us to fly, period because of terrorist attacks and we weren't even allowed to bring water bottles, etc, if terrorist were smart (which they are) they wouldn't hit the same place twice.

Slowly i think america is turning facist and i just wanted to hear your thoughts on my opinion

Here is a question for all you Brits out there. After reading some of the forum posts in the BBC web site about the shooting at VT and getting through a myriad of the usual Anti-American posts there was some good ideas about gun control in America.
Some of my ideas would be as follows:
1 – Do not issue private citizens permits to carry concealed weapons! In fact not carrying guns around at all. If for example you go to a gun range for target practice you need to keep it in a locked case until you get to the range. I think this is how it is in Canada.
2 – As in certain European countries and in Canada you need to have permits for gun ownership. You need to have a valid reason: Hunting, target shooting at a gun club. Sorry fellow Americans it is not a god given right to own a gun, and none of that 2nd Amendment stuff ether its very out dated, I do not think the Brits are going to try to reclaim the colony’s any time soon.
3 – Make it harder to get guns. Being able to easily buy guns at stores like Wal-Mart does not help.
4 – Limit the amount of guns one can own. You do not need an arsenal.
5 – As in Britain, I believe if you are caught with a conceded weapon like a pistol it is a mandatory 5 year prison sentence.

I am not saying banning guns, but there needs to be changes to American gun laws to make it stringent and in lines with other countries. The gun free for all has gone on long enough in America.

A someone looking at the US what do you think should be reasonable gun law’s for the US?
