Did the libs pay any taxes? Or do all of you just get money back due to the earned income credit...in other words you actually get "back" money you never paid...in other words you steal it from me. Isn't theft a crime?

I'm liberal and I paid - don't you have any idea how the tax system works? Do you have a problem paying taxes to fund firefighters, police, education, etc?

Or are you having a problem paying for Iraq and Afghanistan?

I don't understand why a conservative would complain about paying taxes when their party is in power of the government - or at least was in 2006?! You sound idiotic blaming liberals when conservatives were the policy-makers!

I have both liberal and conservative leanings.

Umm..let's see. You have clean water, right? Roads to drive on? A hospital that is always there when you are injured? Schools to send your kids to? Parks for them to play in? Police to come when you need them? Fire dept. to be there when your house is about not to be?

It may surprise you, but if the earned income credit applies to an evil, thoughtless conservative, they get it too. Let's not forget all the conservatives that make the first grab for corporate welfare as well! Oh, and don't forget, sir, that many of those babies born to unwed mothers out there are fathered by conservative guys who don't want to support their git, but darn it...I'm sure they hate DNA and the Courts that work at getting support payments.

Earned income credit is for people trying to support their children with jobs that are underpaid. If they make more money, they don't get it any longer. Get over yourself.

This country has the lowest income tax rates of any developed country, the taxes you pay are what help create the environment that has enabled you to make money, if you object to the tax %, I'm sure you can find a country with lower taxes, like columbia or afganistan perhaps

Actually your federal income taxes go for little more than paying the interest owed on the loans the government gets from the federal reserve.

Yup... I am a conservative as well and I paid in $16 grand last year..... That is literally enough for me to have hired someone for 8 hours a day at 7.69 an hour to work for me as a self employed sub-contractor.... Better than minimum wage!

I wouldn't mind all of these taxes if I knew it went to buy bombs to kill terrorists. But, I hate to think I am supporting some 16 year old welfare mother so she can sit around and watch Judge Judy all day and eat McDonald's and work on her her next conception.

It disgust me.

If you make an income you pay taxes to support the programs. If you purchase gas, food, clothes, guns (one for you rednecks) you pay taxes.

You just claimed to many exemptions and did not withhold enough so you had to pay.

Libs think that this money is owed to them. One of my employees got $3000 back because she has 4 children and she is not married. 2 weeks later she has her nails and hair done, she has new rims on her 85' Honda and she is flat broke. She will always have next year i guess.
