Money and public opinion. However, I pray Obama goes Independent. He can out raise funds over HillBill. He will need
to break out of the pack or he may fall.
3rd parties often toss an election because votes are taken away from others... They have not until this point been taken seriously yet alot of votes went their way. No matter the name I feel many are sick of two parties fighting when they work for US.
2008 may go down as the most controversial election in history. I hope they find the moles in every corner undermining the current President and all the money ?? from where and who comes out. America demands honesty. Bring it on just don't expect a hill of beans in an election season like this one.
There are reasons a President can serve only 2 terms yet Bill wants back in ?? What the Heck?

he is correct funding is a big problem. Another problem is that pubs and dems stick together in freezing out any third party refusing to debate with them. The Republicans and democrats are the right and left wing of the same corporate machine and don't want a viable third party to emerge. The only way you'll hear much about a third party candidate is if he has tons of his own Money to spend like Ross Perot.

Campaign finances. Ideas that have broad-based support and are not stolen by other candidates. The candidate has to get his message out, and that message has to appeal to lots of voters.
