I know, I know; McVeigh used fertilizer and not a gun, but we can't let the world think this Asian is a bigger killer than own homegrown boy. Tell the media to stop saying the Korean holds the record for killing.

I can very well imagine that, due to the attention caused by this most recent and horrific spree of rampant shootings, the focus will again be on what measures to adopt to curtail such violence. Do you think the majority of the dialogue will be diverted towards immigration reform instead of stricter, more effective gun laws in general?

I was born and raised in America, yes my ancestors came from other countries as like many others, but if you want to become American then you should go through the process like other immigrants, including all steps to become an American citizen, like learning the english language and learning about our country. So how many mexicans can say their pledge of alligience, they can't so why are we conforming to the spanish language, I don't recall our country having to conform to the German language or any other foreign language like we do the spanish. I am tired of living in little Tijuana when I live in America

Maybe, JUST FREAKIN' MAYBE, actions and decisions by INDIVIDUALS should be blamed on those INDIVIDUALS and not on "the culture."

If it was as stupid as you Libs say for George Bush to talk about encouraging a "culture of life" - an issue on which I AGREE with you - then it's just as stupid to blame some amorphous "gun culture" for the actions of sick individuals.

The reason i ask is because both buildings 32 and 42 set at between 32 and 33 degrees from building 192. 132 is an almost direct line shot as the crow flys from building 192. Look at the map on Virginia Tech's website. I think i would search building 192 as well.

Fossil fuel supplies are being depleted ! Maybe we have global warming and maybe not. That isn't the question wouldn't you all agree?I think we all can agree to protect our resources and take care of our planet right? Do you like to see garbage by the side of the road? Most of us don't. Isn't it about time we started to think of future generations and do all we can to protect their future?

What happened yesterday is a terrible tragedy. 33 lives were lost. As horrible and sad as it is, why aren't people as upset about the Americans who have died in Iraq? I understand they are military, they signed up for it, etc. Considering that it's not unusual to have 33 Americans die in one week, doesn't it seem like more people would have the same empathy for the families of our troops? Families of this tragedy and the tragedy in Iraq will never be the same.

Since there apparently will be no "grace period" while the dead are buried, I'll have to join in.

What is the history behind this amendment? What did the drafters intend? Specifically, what is the meaning of the first clause of the sentence, and what did "a well-regulated militia" mean at the time of drafting? Do earlier drafts of the amendment, and debates, shed any light on this?

Yes, I could do the research myself, but this is my favorite kind of question to ask - it invites "advocates" on all sides to present their case, for all to see.

Any citations, etc, would be welcome.

Don't try to guess my views. I want to know yours - and most importantly, the drafters'!

Thanks.

"For more than 300 yrs, Racism has had a precise 'social' function"
A system of false ideas justifying the exploitation and domination of people with a visible degree of melanin in their skin by people whose melanocytes are not so active.

The Concept of 'race' persists in everyday speech as a 'Political' Category.
A category that helps to determine who has power over whom. The ascription of individuals to racial groups is a political act.

Racial labels are political weapons by means of which a dominant group can retain a subject group in subjection.

Having read my offering you see why the likes of Sharpton are angry.
America, socially and politically is a Racist society and Sharpton can NEVER be a racist.... NOT YET.

Affirmative Action is an institutionalized way of leveling the educational and economic playing field. Those who support affirmative action are accused of 'acknowledging that those of other races are inferior and need help'. Those who are opposed to affirmative action are accused or 'wanting to be able to favor majorities.' What is your PERSONAL opinion on this? Are you for or against Affirmative Action, and why?
