Nope. Liberal Democrat...so I suppose that's no surprise. I am fascinated by them however, and one day will own an 1861 Springfield Rifled Musket. Not to shoot, but this Civil War nut really wants to have one of these babies over the fireplace.
So I'm probably not the typical rabid liberal democrat.
I do favor sane gun control legislation, but I really don't think it's appropriate to start screaming gun control the minute a tragedy occurs.
Scarborough last night decided to blame the violence on violent games and movies. One of his panel suggested more gun control would help...but that didn't fit with Scarborough's thread, so he dismissed him.
And liberal or conservative, let's be honest the guns had their serial numbers scratched off, so were illegal anyway. Not sure that any gun control measure would have stopped this guy from obtaining them.
The deeper issue is how do we help people not feel so completlely isolated from the rest of us, that they can do these kinds of unspeakable acts. How dark is a person's soul that he/she can extinguish the souls of 32 other people???
How can we shine enough light into that kind of darkness that a person shakes off that murderous impulse?

Yes, we own guns. My husband is a hunter and owns many - he is a moderate Democrat and I am a moderate Independent. We also have a handgun. All together I think it's 8.

Republican, but vote for what I think is the best candidate.
I own 6 guns and have a concealed carry permit.
Did I mention plenty of boxes of ammunition?!?!?!

I'm an independent. I don't own any guns but that is because I can't afford one not because I think guns are the root of all evil as it seems some do.

For now I only have one.
I am registered American Independent - Nationally, they are the Constitution Party...I used to be Republican...but that's just like being a Dem in a costume.

I don't personally, but my dad and brothers own several & are registered to. For hunting purposes, but one for personal safety. They're all in locked gun cabinets too.
Republican, but that doesn't matter, now does it? Democrats own guns too.
