Plame shows theatrical side of Congress By DARLENE SUPERVILLE, Associated Press Writer
Sat Mar 17, 9:49 PM ET

WASHINGTON - Just like a Broadway play, congressional hearings have many acts.

There is drama, humor and plenty of jockeying for top billing. Sometimes a "star" witness is called to answer legislators' questions.

But often those doing the asking really covet the bright lights for themselves. It is even more the case when the television cameras are rolling or, like now, when some lawmakers need the exposure for their presidential campaigns.

Some ask plenty of pointed questions, prompting testy exchanges with witnesses. Some ask plenty of leading questions. Some pose no questions at all, preferring the sound of their own voices. And legislators are quick to cut witnesses off when they do not like the answers.

All that was on display when Valerie Plame, the former CIA officer at the center of a political scandal, told her story...

If you were in Iraq in 2005 and the day before the Secretary of State was to arrive in Iraq the PX mysteriously has 100 boxes of cuban cigars and three days later they' re gone what would you think? Diplomatic Immunity?
I mean it is illegal to purchase Cuban cigars since the embargo but its known that President Kennedy sent Pierre Salinger to stock him up before signing the embargo. Can you imaging Pres Bush puffing on ill gotten cigars purchased at the price of American soldiers lives. How callous would that be?

Here is my problem:

Keys are on the inside of the lock (Yale) how can I get in?
I locked the door accidentally this morning, leaving my key on the inside of the lock (it is a Yale lock). I have a spare key, but have been told that it will not work (because the key is in the lock on the otherside.) I really need to get into my house tonight, and a locksmith is not an option because I have no money on my person. What can I do?

Will the community police be able to help at all? A friend said they might be able to open the door for me.

Some people are gay, whether you like it or not, and trying to gain some support for monogomous relationships. So why do you fight against monogamy by fighting marriage? Would you prefer they slept around more? Nobody's going to stop having sex, so now you're forcing it to be out of wedlock. Does that really support your moral system?
And if you think marriage was invented by your religion, it may interest you to know that the Ancient Greeks married, 400 B.C.E. So the idea that it was "God's" idea doesn't hold water.

My fiancee has a tourist visa and I was told that all we need is his birth certificate and some identification. Is that true. Also, we live in Mexico and were going to get married in the US, then return to Mexico while we wait for the visa stuff to be processed. Does anyone have any advice on this? And where do I start? There are so many forms. Does he need a green card first? What do we apply for first?

I have had these two neighbours for a good many years. However occasionally they have been very arrogant and on the odd occasion blunt (telling me some years ago that I was like their cousin 'useless because not very good at holding down a job) Now I took no notice about this.

However recently they both accused me of something that was trivial but I was wound up so muich by her comment and her husbands snide comment a few days prior that I told them to 'go away in no uncertain terms' (four letters)

If they wind me up again I know what to do smile and walk away-but I cannot do this. If I say the same thing again to either or both of them could they report me to the Police?
But more to the point could I get an ASBO for reacting to their comments-even though I do think they deserve it? Thanking you for your advice

At my daughters school there is no one supervising the children when they get off of the bus. They are not supervised until after they enter the school. My daughter is in Kindergarten and has wandered off twice, and was not found until after school started and someone happened to notice her outside. She is only 5 years old! She was found in a parking lot the first time! I know there's laws for parents who leave their child unsupervised, but what about schools?? What do I do about this legally, and what are the laws?

the only threat to the US is Bush and his WMD lies. US soldiers are brainwashed to think they are fighting for our freedom but they are fighting for Bush's agenda. What makes me laugh is when the dead soldier's mother says she is soo proud of her dead son for fighting for his country. Tell me again what is he fighting for? WHAT? I can't hear you...... who's freedom?

Many people label the PRC with 'Communism' and think that it is nothing but a devil and imagine that the non-democratic regime would rob everything from them .It is not the fact.
Under the principle of 'one China, two system', the PRC gov won't interfere with the self-govern of taiwan, which means, as a citizen in taiwan, there are no changes with your life.

*Note* This isn't a place for the bash Obama crowd.. all are welcome to answer but please keep it civil.

He came off as very Charismatic and well spoken in my opinion. He was fairly direct in answering his questions with surprising little side stepping for a politician, and he seems to know exactly what he stands for and where he stands on it... whereas I think many politicians lack in that area.

that was my take.. what was yours?
