Actually, it was an insult to Bin Laden, saying that he wasn't worthy of personal attention because he's not irrelevent and impotent hiding in a cave somewhere while we conduct two real wars.

No. That is not an insult to our troops. Our troops are doing their job well. They are occupying Iraq and building permanent bases to continue our presence in the country with the 2nd largest oil deposits in the world.

But, it is a slap in the face of Americans who actually believed Bush when he said invading Iraq was about Bin Laden and 9/11.

No matter how much he insults Americans, many will still listen to him and continue to believe the war in Iraq is about terrorism and protecting the US. They will still support billions of dollars being spent sending our troops to fight rather than helping our own people.

As a moderate-liberal democrat, even I understand when things are taken out of context. Don't worry about Bush thinking about Bin Laden. He has thousands of people who work for him that think about him all the time.

It's politics. He's already getting a lot of backlash over Iraq, if he's asked to address Bin Laden and the media switches to that and latches on it can mean even more backlash, and even more bad press and an even harder time doing his job.

There is a lot more to terrorism than one Saudi with big pockets. Bush ought to know better but this is what I expect to hear form him at this point.

Well, what do you expect?

Osama doesn't write, he doesn't call.

Damned inconsiderate to expect a relationship when he behaves so shabbily.
