I think we can all agree that our country is run by the most FEARFUL fanatics in the world?

As an Englishman it always amazes me that Americans are so mild and have no confidence. Many Americans lie about where they come from to avoid people mocking them.
Many Americans i know, say they are Canadian to avoid such treatment.
Why are Americans so shy/coy?

if there is no way to scientifically measure a global temperature?

Seems this house of cards shoved down the worlds throats is beginning to collapse at the hands of scientists as they group together at the universities and are actually disproving the theory of global warming.

If the thrust of this deceit had been aimed at the USA only it would probably still be supported world wide, yet by making it global in its consequence and cost, the leaders of this inconvenient lie have failed because the rest of the world does not believe nor are they willing to pay.

Everyday another article is published by earth scientists calling the whole thing a lie.

Please read the article first comrades before you spout the party line.

I realize I can't bring newspapers, iPods, portable radios or TVs...can I bring a textbook to read while waiting in the jury pool?

My state's homepage doesn't directly address this topic which is why I'm left wondering.

I am in the WI National Guard and have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. I am planning on taking the CPA exam this summer, but would like to use the military benefits for it if they exist--- I know they offer like C++ certification and CLEP exams for free and stuff like that....

Does anyone know if the army offers a program to study for the CPA exam (such as a Becker Review Course) or if they will pay for the exam itself?

Thanks!

We may be going overseas soon, and I was thinking about purchasing a laptop to stay connected to family back home. How do internet connections work over there, and about how much does it cost per month? Anybody who has done this, please tell me your experience! Also, what is the best brand of laptop to buy for when we are deployed? Thanks!

We went to D.C. as counter protesters with the Gathering of Eagles. The last time we were there they were only talking of erecting the WW2 tribute. It is amazing, my new favorite.

The protest against the anti-war, anti-Bush, and anti-American protesters was an over whelming victory. We out numbered them 3 to 1. They were comprised of 50% kids. It was a pathetic showing but a true acounting of who these people really are. They are not speaking for the majority of Americans.

I was sexually abused as a child by my step-father. I "repressed" these memories. He is now in prison for abusing 2 other girls, but he will be out in 4 years. He owns the house across the street from me, and I don't want him around me ever again. However, the prosecuting attorney will not file any charges on him for me. He wont give any explanations either. I am 32 years old, so I know it may be an old case, but the statute of limitations is still good on this! I just don't know where to go from here. Our prosecutor is NOT doing his job at all! If he would at least talk to me and give me an explanation, but he just says his office isn't going to do anything about this!
Can anyone tell me who to contact?

I’m from the Netherlands. I’m self employed, my work is online-based and is a legal, taxed company in that country. Now I’m interested in staying in the US on a long-term basis (as a tourist).

What I thought of doing was simply booking say an 89-day stay in the US, then leaving for a few days (back to the Netherlands), then returning. Is this possible? I’m asking because the last time I entered the States, the immigration officer at the airport seemed to be calculating my total number of days that year, so I feel like there is a possibility that they’re like “no.” So my question is, is there a limit (per year) as to how often I can re-enter the US in this way?

I’ve tried looking this stuff up, but everywhere I look I get the same 90-days-then-leave spiel. I know this, but I need to know if this is going to work long-term. Like I said, I won’t be working in the US, just living as a kind of permanent tourist.

I really appreciate any insight here.

Not trying to sound cold hearted here but just what is Iraq in the sense of sacrifice to America, really, and, truly, compared to other wars, the U.S. has engaged in. There were more people killed at Gettysberg in a single afternoon than in 4 years in Iraq.

In Iraq, after four years, 3100+ Americans killed; In our great Civil War, after 4 years 400,000 american soldiers killed; WWI, after 1.5 years 100,000+ american soldiers dead; WWII, after 4 years, 400,000+ american soldiers dead; Korean war, after 3 years, 54,000+ dead, Vietnam War, after 13 +years, 54,000 dead.

In the U.S., each year, 40,000 plus americans are killed by violence, and, 40,000+ are killed in automobile accidents.

As a people can we move on to new ideas and policy accomplishments?

I've been divorced more than 12 yrs. In the div. decree I was given 1/2 pension and annuity of ex. He retired Jan 2006. I was entitled to more than $100,000 annuity. His city job knew this and had documentation. They mistakenly gave him my entitlement and when requested to return it, he refused and got an attorney. He lost.

Now, my attorney (person not responsible for my win) was handling a case for me against the city. I've felt that he has been less than honest. On 3/19/07, a status conference was held, as a result of a conference between my attorney and my ex's atty, and the city's atty in Dec. 06, and the outcome was to withhold the money mistakenly given to my ex., pending outcome of a decision in family court. He lost in that decision.
No attys except mine were in the ct room on 3/19/07 and he claimed not to know why. I found out from the clerk that my atty called the ct on Friday claiming that a settlement was reached. I never agreed to a settlement. What do I do
