I think it depends on the makeup of the congress.

No but those of us who save and invest will have less incentive to do so.
That's what the Dems don't understand - it's not a matter of who gets the most benefit of the tax cut - - it's like the widow's mite - - the only way most of us can become rich is by saving and investing. And if we're not financial mavens then we should stick to the utilities, insurance companies, large banks - i.e., established, high-dividend-yield stocks. The 15% tax on dividends makes it worthwhile for a middle class household to invest in a DRIP - a dividend reinvestment plan - because you're reinvesting more of the dividend. $30 here, $50 there, you just mail it into the plan and it buys stock on your behalf, even in partial shares. You do that for 20 years and it enables you to retire 5-6 years earlier or have another vacation every year.
But if you're getting taxed at the top marginal rate of 39% on dividends, that's a big deal - almost makes it no longer worthwhile.

It will be quite different
Instead of pissing away millions on a War based on lies,
we will probably get another Democratic Balanced Budget and begin to pay off this RECORD HIGH NATIONAL DEBT that the republicans have , once again, saddled the nation with.
Yes do get out your gas masks, because, as it was before I'm sure the Republicans will try to bring up some stink over a B J or something else no one else cares about. (they just can't stand it when the democrats get in and everything is all peaceful and prosperous)

Leaving terrorism aside, expect higher taxes, higher interest rates and probably some good buys in the real estate market, as the economy tanks. 2008 may be a good time to get out of the stock market. Make use of the high interest rates.

Not catastrophic at all. It will be bad. But really, how bad could it be? we have had Democrat presidents before, and we will again (hopefully when they come back from the extreme left) and looking at how the Republicans have been in office the last few times, I'm not sure that we need another one of them either.

It won't be any more catastrophic than it is right now. A republican president told us to go to home depot and get plastic and duct tape in case of a terrorist attack. Neither party can do much to protect us from terrorists at this point. They have both dropped the ball big time. i.e., open borders, spying on citizens, removal of civil liberties and constitutional rights.

No, gas masks for Dems. I
I think the Repubs pass more gas than the Dems. Repubs eat richer food, and throw much better parties, and so pass more gas. The gas is higher quality than the Dems. but it still smells.

The election of a Democrat to the white house will not result in Armageddon. I swear, some people are just to stupid for belief. I seriously hope that people like you aren't at the ballot; too ignorant to vote for someone based on how they are for the job, just what party they run under.

If the worst thing you can do to discredit Barack Obama is type his middle name all in caps, like it means anything, then bring it on, baby.
