There is a certain person here who likes to accuse liberals of not working. When I mentioned the fact that I work both at a natural foods store AND as a Spanish tutor at a college, she made it a point to say that my jobs were "pitiful" and that she bet that I earned less than $50 k a year. What about the "work ethic" this person was touting? She acts as though she believes in the work ethic and pulling oneself up by the bootstraps, yet she puts down those who earn very little and don't live off the system. Doesn't that sound a bit SNOBBISH to you?

Honestly, what do you think? I have nothing against the Mexican people. I'm half. Yes, they do take jobs, which leaves less for the people in California and other states - but really don't they want to live? What life do they have in Mexico? Wouldn't you move too - if you were in their place? Death or be an illegal?
Surely if we tried we could help their government...

Proven you increase taxes on the wealthy for the benefit of the poor. This slows the economy and decreases available jobs creating an unemployment state. Why do you persist?

Proven you want to leave Iraq yet have no plan of departure that stabilizes the Middle East? What's your plan?

Proven you want us to "do something in Darfur" just like Amnesty International wanted us to "Do something" in Iraq in 2002 yet you turned rabid when everything became a challenge? What's your plan for recovery of Darfur?

You want zero environmental industrial base. Yet you want bio based products and all natural products whenever you turn around? How can you accomplish this?

These are just a few but the trend becomes a Kid's Christmas list and you are never satisified. You all want and demand more yet give and create the strategy less and less.

IU.S. Military Laws:

Can a Army solider be sued by a civilian? What type of exemptions does military personnel qualify for?

A few years ago, I was in a car accident ~ Struck from behind by a army solider. Ive obtained a lawyer who seems to has not put forth effort in my case.

Most recently he informed me that a military solider can not be sued.

Any resources that any can provide pertaining to this would be great

Is it because Democratic "men" have too much estrogen? If anyone has dated a Democratic "man", was it the closest you've ever come to a full-fledged Lesbian experience?

I was just wondering, since certain people like to claim that we don't work for a living. I know that's not true, but I want other people to see this. By the way, I work TWO jobs. I work at a natural foods store, plus I work as a Spanish tutor at a college.

"Invaders from outside" (i.e terrorism), political fighting between the ruling class and the Senate (Dem and Republicans), borders that have grown too large and indefensible, an increasing populace indifferance. Sounds like Rome right? No. How about right here in America. What can we do to prevent our own "fall"?

I've waited at my daughter's flat for BT to arrive and connect the phone. And they've still not arrived. They said between 8am and 1pm. I left at 2.30pm and still not a bt bod in sight. I think we should be able to get a reduction to the cost of connection/charges for every hour they're overtime. In fact dont you think that any service or company that claim they will arrive at a specific time and dont contact you as to reason why they're delayed etc should be charged for their incompetence? They would not hesitate to penilise us for a revisit.

My ex-boyfriend filed an Order of Protection against me saying he fears for his safety. I have never physcially harmed him in anyway or threatened him in anyway. We have had are share of arguments but I have never harmed him. He says I am harrassing him and have made up a "delusional relationship" with him. I have moved on and found a new boyfriend who I am finally happy with. How do respond to this? What if I don't respond? I don't feel comfortable in the same room as him. If anyone should feel threatened it should be me. There were several incidents in our relationship where I feared for my safety. I am at a loss of what to do.

I read an article this morning about an effort in Seattle to ban driving while talking on the phone, writing, texting, & other forms of distracted driving. I've seen plenty of very dangerous driving on the roads. I saw someone (during morning rush hour on the DC beltway) driving, talking on the phone (with the bent neck on the shoulder), holding cup of coffee, and eating a sandwich! I've seen someone doing a crossword puzzle on the steering wheel. (anyone who lives around DC knows you can see this as slow as you are going). Seen reading a stack of paper (probably work reports that should have been done at home-or work!). Smoking, eating, drinking, talking- at once!

DC has a no hand set law. You MUST use an earpiece if you are driving. Cops are the biggest violators of the law! I see them driving with DVDs playing on the dash! How can they enforce laws they dont chose to follow?

I would love to see laws passed. Even more, enforced!
