I've waited at my daughter's flat for BT to arrive and connect the phone. And they've still not arrived. They said between 8am and 1pm. I left at 2.30pm and still not a bt bod in sight. I think we should be able to get a reduction to the cost of connection/charges for every hour they're overtime. In fact dont you think that any service or company that claim they will arrive at a specific time and dont contact you as to reason why they're delayed etc should be charged for their incompetence? They would not hesitate to penilise us for a revisit.

my bank messed up my D Debit payments and I had to visit a branch to sort it.

I billed them for the letter £20.
my time at £10 per hour ( i'm cheap!)
my mileage 40p per mile (national taxable rate)

They paid out, as they had no case. The errors were their fault.

Go for it, word it well and justify your costs. Just make sure you read any terms & conditions that you may have agreed to prior to this, in case they have twisted in a get out clause, like not notifying you or responsible for waiting times.

Dont be mad at engineer when they do arrive, it is rarely their fault, they are given a crazy work load, forcing them to work through breaks and late for no extra money.

EXTRA - Write your letter to 'head of customer services'AND the 'area manager'. Make sure you list both as addresses so they both know each other knows.

I always think we should. It is our time and money that is being wasted. This has all been to much familiar with me. I leave work early go to the doctors. I wait and hour in the waiting room and the another hour in the patent room just for a simple prescription. Pisses me off. One day I yelled at my OBGYN I had enough of waiting for every single doctor more then 15 mintes. From that point on I was alway seen on time.

Unfortunately we don't have that luxury to charge people for our time. I suggest you call and talk to the supervisors supervisors. Don't settle for speaking with a "pee-on" and just let them know you don't appreciate your time being wasted like that. See if you can negociate a discount. Don't give up! Keep going up the corporate ladder until someone does. (That is what I do) and it hasn't failed me yet.

Sorry about your troubles, but I have been thru the samething. They gave me a certain time for something to arrive, but it didn't. I agree with you, you should get a discount or a refund for the time you have wasted. But I dought you will be given one. Good Luck.

Your daughter is just a customer to BT, she's of no importance to them whatsoever!!! Make a complaint and kick up a fuss.

Here in the States, they are allowed to give a four hour lead time. They don't get into trouble that way.
