Is this an uncomfortable truth?

For those too lazy and arrogant to believe this happens in the USA.. Check ABC and Barbara Stewart's investigation and report.. You see the truth is very uncomfortable when it smacks you in the face.

That's why instead of tithing to my church, who are quite healty and fed, and dont have to want for nothing, I send my tithe's to a "Highly Respected" "Feed The Children" and insist my tithe's go too the American Children first!! We have to take care of our own first, then fix other countries, you know!! But, I've been seeing those commercial's in which these kids and families over in Africa, can die anyday if not helped some way some how, so I'm thinking of sending a letter for them to split the money 50/50 to American's and the other half to this country who so desperately needs our help too, you know.. And I honestly feel that all of these Celebrities should be forced, to spend 1/10th, of their incomes on feeding American's families, and housing them, you know.. I think it should become a LAW, that they have to do it!! They would never miss that 10th, of their incomes, you know!! And it certainly would make for "Happier Families" and fed families, you know!! I know if they had to give a 10th of their incomes, our country could very easily get ahold on housing those homeless, and keep those children fed, for sure!! EXCELLLENT Question, and I hope your question will convict other's too help as well!!! Smile!!!

I think the actual figure is a fraction of your claim, but that is not the point. Most of the time, homeless children is a direct result of homeless parents. Parents can be homeless for a great number of reasons: unemployment, illness, addiction, falling on some hard luck. And that doesn't include runaways.

diverse countries have diverse regulations. some, like maximum asian countries want couples over 40. China case in point calls for that the couple no longer have the different little ones and prefers that one or both are incapable of manufacturing little ones by organic ability. in addition they want that the couple is nicely off. different places like jap ecu countries have a tendency to need dad and mom below 40. you basically ought to study with the country from that you want to undertake. that's healthier to attempt this by an adoption corporation that makes a speciality of international adoptions.

That's not correct. There are NOT 22 million homeless children. In fact, there aren't even close to 22 million homeless.

For a change, you should try using facts.
-----------------------
Barbara Stewart is your "fact" giver? The Barbara Stewart who was fired from the Boston Globe for fabricating stories? That's your idea of an impeccable source? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A57908-2005Apr15.html
Also, I was not able to find anything after a web search for "Barbara Stewart homeless children".

So.... Show Me The Money! Post a link to back your claims!

Even the most fervent homeless helpers estimate that there are 800K total homeless in America on any given day, of which 200K are children. Due to difficulty really counting, they suspect the numbers are higher, but don't know by how much.

But it isn't 22 million children. That is an absurd lie. Caught you out yet again.

Still no offer to provide evidence that your numbers were from any legitimate source, eh?

Because our government pays more attention to money making ventures overseas (i.e. "liberating" Iraq - A.K.A. making Bush and his friends a lot of money!!!).

We neglect to take care of our people and then claim to want to save the rest of the world from "terrorism" or "communism". Then, we have the war on drugs that hurts more children than it helps as well.

What we need to do is spend our money and time fixing up the poor areas of our own country. Providing jobs and training to people in need. Drug treatment. Better schools for our children. Universal healthcare. We need to mentor kids in bad situations and show them that they can better themselves through education and hard work. We need to break the cycle of poverty and violence.

Rather, I feel, America is more concerned with money and capitalistic gains. Then, many of us blame the individuals by saying things like "they should work harder" and "I've worked my way up, why can't they?" When in reality, none of these people probably grew up with a crack head mother or living on the streets. It's kind of hard to get a good education when you're sleeping on a bench and not eating properly, huh? Many of these people didn't walk in their shoes!!!

I guess what I'm saying is that there isn't one simple answer to your question and that maybe we Americans should start paying more attention to important issues such as these rather than fighting abstract ideas such as terorism and being too selfish to look beyond our own little lives so we can see the big picutre.

Isn't the truth tragic enough without such gross exagerations?

"Over 1 Million Children Homeless in U.S." http://www.worldfreeinternet.net/news/nws175.htm

"As many as 3.5 million people experience homelessness in a given year "
"1.37 million (or 39%) of the total homeless population are children under the age of 18" How many of those are run-aways? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homelessness_in_the_United_States

"There are between 900,000 and 1.4 million children who are homeless each year here" Again - How many are run-aways. http://www.ucc.org/justice/witness/wfj051302.htm
42% of whom are under 5 years of age. (400 thou to 600 thou) ahttp://www.nrchmi.samhsa.gov/

66% of all homeless report either substance use and/or mental health problems." http://www.nrchmi.samhsa.gov/facts/facts_question_2.asp Parent's like this are why the majority of all homeless kids are homeless.

My aunt was untreated bi-polar & she was homeless at times. (when she felt all her family was "out to get her") http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AurfOCuTNO7lIDU3AdH3Pkvty6IX?qid=20060915184333AAlWbRc
My heart goes out to these people. But we need to face reality if we want to change it.

The primary reason is the NeoCon church of Ted Haggard has taught America that those old precepts of Humanity and Civility no longer matter. Love thy neighbor means sex and meth with a porn star at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

Of course that $7 million dollar salary help spread the love.

So that 30,000,000 people can live lifes of luxury at their expense.
Underpaying the workers in a society forces families apart to fend for them selves .
Notice the wealthy families have multiple sometimes shared estates with two and three generations living together .
A poor family kicks its weak to the curb while the rich just have that idiot son . Like Bush the weakest of the litter who as we all know is now president .

A large portion of that is the parents blame. By abusing drugs and alcahol, and not paying the rent they abuse their children. This is another uncomfortable truth: the more free money you give them, the more they take, and the more that come looking for a handout..
