At its heart it is that if the war in Iraq is judged by history to be a colossal criminal invasion of one country by another, its going to look a lot better if Bush can say "See how much money we put in trying to repair and replace the damage"
We simply cannot afford $312 Billion dollars to rebuild Iraq and do the same to our own cities, even though the flooding was caused by inadequate repairs to the levees based on incorrect assumptions by the Army Corps of Engineers of severity of hurricanes and a faulty (as it turned out) cost benefit evaluation by them. To add insult to injury, pumps, manufactured by a long time Bush supporter, known to be faulty were installed last year and have had problems ever since. They were said to be installed "so at least there would be something there even if it didn't work"
Bush and company have done a good job playing on the racial divide by making the country think that the only damage done in the south was to a Black city, when nothing could be further from the truth.
The amount dedicated by the Federal government to the rebuilding of New Orleans is $125 million dollars, only half of which has been given out. The cost of the Iraqi war is $2 Billion a month.

bush started the iraq war for his and his fathers benifit.they have heavy oil business over there that he thinks our children should die for to keep his money in there pockets.NO bush wont go over there and his precious kids ant over there dieing either.but he sure didnt mind sending others over there to die did he.he is a COWARD plain and simple!.i for one agree with the dixie chicks in saying that im ashamed hes even a american.who knows he might really be an iraqi and has a very good deskize.it ovious he dont care about the united states at all,or the people of new orleans would not still be living in tents.i am a truck driver and was just through there a few weeks ago,and i can tell you that there are still a whole lot of tents up in that city.i think its a desgrace that its going on 2 years now and some of those people have been completly ecnored.new orleans is part of the us and we are suppose to take care of each other.when hurricane rita hit the state of florida(bush country)the government had tractor trailers packed full of supplies for florida even before it hit there.why didnt louisianna deserve the same treatment.ill tell you,bush had no ties there so he let them fend for themselves and they are still doing it today.our bush government didnt think they was as important as florida was because his brother wasnt there.i feel real sorry for the iraqi people and the children for the war that bush throughed on them to protect his oil.they didnt ask us for help,there was no bombs of mass destruction,and they didnt do one single thing to us.the war was spund from bushes greed for money.he used terroisum as an excuse.them people didnt terroise us,afganistan flew those planes in to our towers and osama binladen is still walking around free as a bird and he always will.he will never be tried for killing our citizens and he knows this to.maybe when the democrates takes back the white house from this murderer next year they will take care of the important people,the citizens of THE UNITED STATES.thats if bush dont completly destroy us before that could happen.

We have helped New Orleans. We are at war with Iraq and if he didn't deploy the troops the terroists would continue attacking the US. Get a hold of yourself, Bush knows what he is doing. We tried talking to them, and that didn't work, but if you think you can stop them be our guest.

P.S. Scooterpie, Bush went to war for national security, and if he didn't you might not be alive right now, so be thankful that he did go to war.
