Historians have declaired that Benjamin Franklin invented the moonwalk not Michelle Jackson as was once thought. What they say is that Franklin, back in the mid 1700s was standing around with some delagates waiting for a meeting to start when he started too "show off to them" by doing a trick where he looked like he was walking foreward but actually was moveing backwards. This lightened the mood for the sucessfull meeting of the delegates and many other people tried it but he was the only one who could do it. John Locke actually wrote in 1772 , "This man who has been a substancial leader of democracy, has awed us with his brilliant mind boggeling backwards walk." So I guess Jackson didnt really invent the moon walk.

Ok, I think going to Iraq was the dumbest thing we could have done... but now we are there can we really leave... I was reading today and in 1996 a Fatwa was signed and published by Osama Bin Laden declaring war on all American's both civilian and military! In 1998 it was revised to add that America's goal was to destroy Iraq and that is was their duty as muslims to kill americans civilians military and America's allies and Israelis in order to make sure that the Mosques that they consider holy are returned to them! The claim is that we started the War in the 1990's. Knowing this, after we have destroyed what the Arab community knew as Iraq can we is it possible to leave Iraq in the state that it is in? What do you think should now be done to solve this problem knowing the mindset of many Muslims in the region?

WASHINGTON - While Democrats try to restrict how
President Bush can spend the $100 billion he wants for
Iraq, they also hope to load his measure up with $10 billion in add-ons — from aid for avocado growers to help for children lacking health insurance.

$10 billion in add ons. Can you all say PORK

I graduate in May and will hopefully be teaching social studies in the fall. I believe supporting the troops is necessary especially if I'm teaching US History because we would be no where without our amazing troops.

What is a legit site where I could adopt a soldier or two? (I went to soldiersangels.com and nothing was pulling up when I went to 'adopt a soldier.') Also, if I wanted to have the class make cards and such, could I send a stack of cards too? Any help would greatly be appreciated because all my ideas have to be presented fairly soon after I get hired at a school. All this is completely unknown to me, but I would really like to get classes involved in this. Thanks! :)
