WASHINGTON - While Democrats try to restrict how
President Bush can spend the $100 billion he wants for

Edit - My point is its primarily Democrats tacking earmarks on a Democrat spending bill, but if it fails for all the additional earmarks will Republicans get blamed

neo cracker , earmarks are not exclusive to a party.

One of the things, the few things, Bill Clinton was for that I support was line item veto.
Both parties slip in the pork along with good proposals and the junk gets passed along with the rest. we need to stop that.

Oh yeah, $100 Billion for war contractors, 1/10 of that for Americans. Yup, you bet, that's some serious pork. What if we say $0 for war, and $10 Billion for use in our own country? I guess you'd rather send 10 times as much over to Iraq?

I don't like shotgun Senate Bills. Either Give the Pres line item Veto of start writing single issue legislation.

Children's Health should be a stand alone issue.

tLiberal tax and spend my friend. We'll give you this but there's a minor catch. Line item veto, that's the cure for all the excess waste in Washington. Oh yes, lets not forget to cut out the lobbyists. Washington is there for "the people", not just to get reelected. olhip48
