The Myth of Immigrant Criminality and the Paradox of Assimilation: Incarceration Rates among Native and Foreign-Born Men: by Ruben G. Rumbaut, Ph.D. and Walter A. Ewing, Ph.D.
Because many immigrants to the United States, especially Mexicans and Central Americans, are young men who arrive with very low levels of formal education, popular stereotypes tend to associate them with higher rates of crime and
incarceration. However, data from the census and other sources show that for every ethnic group without exception, incarceration rates among young men are lowest for immigrants. This holds true especially for the Mexicans, Salvadorans, and Guatemalans who make up the bulk of the undocumented population. The problem of crime in the United States is not "caused" or even aggravated by immigrants. Among men age 18-39, the 3.5 percent incarration rate of the native-born in 2000 was 5 times higher than the 0.7 percent incarceration rate of the foreign-born.

Given the rift between the left and right in this country, if somehow the United States were able to become 2 countries, the conservative US and the liberal US. Which one would you live in?

Omitting peoples' individual stances on political issues, but rather focusing on the popular beliefs of both the left and the right;

Conservative stances - strong borders, strong national security, pro 2nd Ammend., less government intrusion, low taxes, smaller government overall, and basically let the free market do what it's going to do (in general).

Liberal stances - Inclusivity, gun control, universal healthcare, social welfare programs, universal education, politcal correctness, level playing field, tax and regulation, and overall bigger and more involved government (in general).

If these individual countries were built based on the ideas stated above, how do you think these countries would be, both short term and long term. And what about the mindset of its citizens.

It wasn't long a go that right wing christian conservatives used to call liberals irrelvant. After the 2006 election and huge defeat of neocons and the way things moving along it seems that the right wing christians are becoming irrelvant. I mean there is a huge chance that republicans will lose more senate seats in 2008. And if Hillary or MCcain, or Gulliani win the election it is still huge defeat for rightwingers as all of those people are relatively liberal. Also, if you add the huge wave of immigration, participation of younger people, and women it seems that the right wingers are doomed for good! Also, I am seeing bunch of close friends leaving churchs and christianity for good. Do you agree with my observations? Why or Why not? Do you think right wing of republican party can make a come back?

I live in Arizona and my town has went almost strictly with photo enforcement. From parked vehicles that take pictures, to full intersections that all are run by camera's. In fact, I see maybe a police car a week instead of 5 a day.
Its just odd to think that these things are legitimate and would hold up in court against someone arguing their ticket.

Ken Livingstone has flawless Socialist Principles,Politically Correct Principles, and "liberal" Principles:ex-Communist now waging war on the Middle-Classes,and putting his cronies in well-paid sinecures.(nothing wrong with this,of couse: standard practice on the Left.)
He's had a few ups-and-downs of course: using the term Nazi to a Jewish guy,and some small murmurs about the IRA.
But,Hey Man!
As the great Comrade Stalin said:
"You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs".
As the Great Karl Marx also said that:
"Religion is The Opium of the People"
Is it now "Right-on" to say that Muslims are not intelligent?
Could someone point out any flaws in this logic,or am I misunderstanding something in "liberal" logic?

The county is doing a warrant round up this weekend and has told him he can paythe 800.00 by Friday and avoid being arrested in public. He does not have the money to pay the ticket. What are his other options? Can he pay hif fine of by doing over nights? We are located in the state of Texas. The ticket was for speeding I believe it was 12 miles over the speed limit, but he also did not have his proof of insurance. He did have insurance and could have gotten that taken care of easily, but didn't. Any help would be appriciated.
