I live in Arizona and my town has went almost strictly with photo enforcement. From parked vehicles that take pictures, to full intersections that all are run by camera's. In fact, I see maybe a police car a week instead of 5 a day.
Its just odd to think that these things are legitimate and would hold up in court against someone arguing their ticket.

I live in Arizona too--but the sirens blast every night, and the helicopters fly overhead, shining their lights down on innocent people.

I hope to be living, but in Canada, or Europe in 20 years. This country has gotten ridiculous--the crime is too much more than ever--and law enforcement is crazier than ever.

Still, when we needed the police (who were around the corner, parked in their patrol car), we waited over one hour for them to show up--go figure...

The machine has no axe to grind, no prejudice and no bad days so it is well suited to do the mechanical task of writing tickets for speeding, running red lights, etc. This will leave the human police free to pursue major offenders ie: rapists, murders, kidnappers, robbers, hi jackers. As far as presenting your disagreement in court I would think it would be easier to fight an electronic policeman than it would be one who can think and reason possibly better than you. Be that as it may I see a far more sophisticated police force with better means and ways of pursuing criminals.
