I rent a house and recently during the wonderful downpours of rain , the water came running in around the beams above the fireplace. My lap top was soaked. It will not work. I have spoken to the Real Estate agent and am not happy with the response that my landlord evidentaly has Landlord Insurance but says Bad Luck. If I had left my Laptop outside in the rain , the damage would be my fault. But how does a leaking roof become my fault? Landlord says water ran in under the flashing around the chimney. Surely this is the landlords responsibility. What is Insurance for? Can anyone out there help me resolve this matter? What steps can I take to resolve this matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

I was reading an article about how undisciplined our kids are and a couple of pages later where a police arrested a family for spanking their child. Are we to go through these " time outs, talkings and other psychological assessments" and let our kids grow up with the notion that if the adults "get out of line, call 911", or do we risk that and discipline our kids accordingly without the fear of " society" coming down on us for alleged abuse! I am so sick of society calling the parents to chastise their children and then switch out on them when they do. I believe either we do it or we wait until prison officials do it. At that time it is to late and our kids will be "beaten" by people who don't really care!

Having watched 'The Verdict' on BBC 2 last night, I've found myself asking which would be the bigger crime...
my personal opinion was generally that of the concensus of the jury, unsure so not guilty.
So the question has to be asked, is it worse to jail someone innocent or to free someone guilty of a crime.

My brother has 3 kids. He recently married their mother, though they've been together for 17 years. Early on before the marriage he was the sole provider for the kids. But my brother cheated on her, and out of an act of vengance, she kept the kids away from him for 4 years, and made false claims that he threatened to kill her and the children. He was ordered to pay child support and not granted visitation of his kids. 2 years after the child support order, my brother and his children's mother reconciled and recently wed.
My question is how can the child support payments be stopped through the courts and what is the process? Approximately how long does this take?

I believe it is wrong to kill another. I acknowledge accidents should be an exception. But I propose that anyone who pulls the trigger or votes for another to pull the trigger, or who orders another to pull the trigger...which kills a person, should themselves be put to death. No exceptions. The idea would be for ALL POLITICIANS who vote for war to be put to death. All generals who plan wars would be put to death. Thus there would be nobody to order soldiers to kill others. My god, would this stop wars? Would it work? What do you think?

if you got threat from internet (networking websites) can you report to the police? the person is in another country. the other persons from the internet constantly being provocative i tried to avoid conflict being nice but he's keep being provocative until i can't take it no more and i said " F* off" , and he now says "i will crack you head"....
can i report to the police?
the reason why "i crack your head" is being taken quite seriously is cus that person has extended period of times of martial art's training(20+). but acting like a bully.

What does all this mean? Do I have to be a citizen of one of the countries or do I have to have residency in spain? Both? Citizenship in Spain? Residency and Citizenship are two different things. One means you can stay in spain, the other means you can vote in spain.
What does it mean by "you must have residency" and "you must be a citizen?"

I am normally a good driver but yesterday I almost hit a cop. He immediately pulled me over and told me that I almost hit him. He asked for my liscense, I gave it to him. He asked me if the address was correct I said no and he asked for an updated address which he wrote down. He then asked me for my phone number. I gave it to him and he said, "Well I have some stuff to do right now" and he left.
Is it normal for police to ask for your phone number? He did not give me a ticket but is he planning on sending me one in the mail? Do cops do this? I thoujght it was strange and I have a perfect record so I hope he forgets about it lol

NBA bans Hardaway former NBA player from the All Star game in Vegas because he made anti gay remarks about Amaechi another former NBA player. The press is crucifying Hardaway because he said he wouldn't feel comforatable in the locker room with a gay player.

The press is crucifying Barak Obama because he smokes ciggarettes,just an excuse to ruin his name because they don't want to admit that he will have a hard time running for President because he is black.
Why not have open discussions on that? I am white and I would have voted for Jesse Jackson if he didn't drop out years ago. What's the problem with the press today?

Why can't we put SNIPERS on every tall building in Baghdad?
Why can't we send out a decent size convoy, when something needs to be checked out?
Why can't we drive Humvees on the streets that run parallel to the one the main contingent is driving down? (So as to make sure it is more difficult to approach it.)
Why can't we drive a remote controlled car infront of the Humvees?
Why can't we analyze where the bombs came from?
Why can't we arrest A SINGLE person when attacks happen?--I am not talking about dragging people out of homes; I am talking about CHASING and CATCHING terrorists like the police do in L.A.
