What the HELL is wrong with the generals that are sending a couple of Hummers with no air cover into a WAR?!

In Los Angeles, they send out 10 squad cars and a helicopter or TWO just to catch a car-thief, should he decide to "terrorize" the freeway by driving the same speed as everyone else!!

Why can't we put SNIPERS on every tall building in Baghdad?
Why can't we send out a decent size convoy, when something needs to be checked out?
Why can't we drive Humvees on the streets that run parallel to the one the main contingent is driving down? (So as to make sure it is more difficult to approach it.)
Why can't we drive a remote controlled car infront of the Humvees?
Why can't we analyze where the bombs came from?
Why can't we arrest A SINGLE person when attacks happen?--I am not talking about dragging people out of homes; I am talking about CHASING and CATCHING terrorists like the police do in L.A.
Do any of you West Point (or other MILITARY school) grads think this is FUBAR?!

O_rion3,
You should go back to school and study.
The reason we WON the Revolution was because we DIDN'T fight like the British. We fought like...well...like the enemy is in Iraq. (Notice, I didn't call them Iraqis (because they are probably Iranian), and I didn't call them terrorists, because they are fighting soldiers, and I didn't call them resistance, because they are not the real Iraquis defending their country)
They are jerks.
Our boys are dying.
I am trying to help them by complaining about the way the STUPID commanders are handling day-to-day operations.
It's the least I can do to try to bring about some kind of QUESTIONING of the WAY the war is being fought.
What are YOU doing?
You are criticizing my trying to HELP OUR BOYS!
Are YOU a terriorist who wants to see more of them die?
You sure sound like one!
Go to HELL!!
Our boys need our SUPPORT, not our blind allegiance to the MORON in office!!

I like it that you question authority. It make no sense the pain we are suffering as the citizens in the USA. A noble cause often baffles me.

I can't agree with you more. As a former military (26 yrs) I have to tell you that you are right on with your question. The only answer I can come up with is that we don't want to win! Much like Viet Nam. One thing that became very apparent when I was in uniform is the fact that you were expendable and simply not important. We can see this with the recent death of a very marginally talented, doper by the name of Anna Nichol Smith and all the press her death mustered up. That same day there were 4 marines that died and I challenge anyone to tell me their names.

Q: Why did we fight the Revolutionary War with British fighting tactics?? Lining up both Armies across from each other in a frantic race to fire, re-load, and fire again our musket long rifles only to die not more that 100 yards or so from your enemy?? Well, like Gen. George Patton said, "War is Hell" it's no diff. today...so i don't see you volunteering to help protect the cause of FREEDOM???? So the answer remains....WHY....
