The old priest lay dying in the hospital. For years he had faithfully served the people of the nation's capital. He motioned for one of his aides to come near.

"Yes father" said the aide.

"I would really like to see Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton before I die",
whispered the priest.

"I'll see what I can do, father" replied the aide.

The aide sent the request to the Senate and waited for a response. Soon the
word arrived. Kennedy and Clinton would be delighted to visit the priest.
As they went to the hospital, Clinton commented to Kennedy "I don't know why the old priest wants to see us, but it will certainly help our images after the number the Republicans have done on us." Kennedy couldn't help but agree.

When they arrived at the priest's room, the priest took Kennedy's hand in his right hand and Clinton's hand in his left. There was silence and a look of serenity on the old priest's face.

Finally Senator Kennedy spoke "Father, of all the people you could have chosen, why did you choose us to be with you as you near the end?"

The old priest slowly replied "I have always tried to pattern my life after our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

"Amen" said Kennedy. "Amen" said Clinton.

The old priest continued..."He died between two lying thieves. I would like to do the same."

There will always be strife in the Middle-East, its been like that for as long as civilization has been around. But when western politicians meddle in the affairs of of other countries, more often things get far worse than if they never meddled in the first place.

As it is, not just our troops in Iraq, we have two U.S. carrier battle groups there showing the flag, its too easy to tempt fate with the limited capabilities of those who can provoke the Navy into a conflagaration, since the navy has advanced tactical weaponry that can easily escalate a bad situation into something completely ugly & out of control.

I'm thinking about married women. Surely a woman only assumes their husbands name and doesn't actually change their name legally. Therefore if they divorce they revert to their maiden name I would think. Is this true?

If so, what did you like or dislike about the base? How far is it to the to coast (hours of driving)? How are the surrounding towns? Are there many attractions nearby? What wildlife did you encounter? Was it safe to travel through the country? What is the weather like? What did you miss from the US?

I mean, is it just because their so called authority doesn't stand up to legitimate questioning?
I have noticed that on Y!A if you ask a question critical of them they hide behind an anonymous snitch report for "community standards", and of course on the street they call for backup and have you arrested if you dare say anything that hurts their feelings. And then beat you up while you are handcuffed, just to "teach you a lesson".

Of course, the ONLY lesson they ever taught me like that was to hate them and all they stand for.

But seriously, since free speech is the law, and they are sworn to uphold the law, why the violent hatred for free speech?
Can a cop or cop-lover answer this without telling me to "shut up" or threatening me in some way? Enquiring minds want to know...

Can anyone please help. My sister is in the fight of her life. She just lost sole custody of her 5month old son to her ex husband. From what I gather, her lawyer filed a motion for a continuance and told her that the judge would grant it and told her that she didn't need to show up to court. Well, the day of her trial came around and neither her nor her lawyer were present. Thus he granted full custody to her ex. It has been a nasty and bitter fight for her and she has sunk in to a deep deep depression. I need help to shake her out of it!!!! The only problem is I'm in Australia and she's in Texas. Can anyone help with any suggestions on the appeals process and or just general help regarding anything with family law?? Can she claim anything since her lawyer was incompetent? If so, where should she start???

this question is for the future candidates when will you wake up and realize that the people want it and in a controlled way it can be a revenue boon if done properly, like alcohol or cigarettes. with this revenue stream it would wipe out the deficit in very little time and effort!

Can it be just me but... Iraq and Iran are "neighbouring countries".. so, where exactly are these U.S. Surge troops going to end up?

George W Bush has once again told NATO they must send more troops to help out....?? http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/02/15/bush.ap/index.html?eref=rss_politics

Where?

Why?

It's a sure damn thing they'll NOT being going to the REAL SOURCE of this supposed "war on terrorism" otherwise every troop on the ground in this 2nd Gulf war would be going STRAIGHT TO AFGHANISTAN... "do not pass go, do not collect $200".. and do not chase the oil !!!

AFGHANISTAN is NOT a NATO war, but, it is recognised to be the source of this recent terror campaign and is therefore justified conflict. It is SUPPOSED to be a U.S.-LED coalition force....

77% U.S. troops were withdrawn in 2003 from there once NATO/UK help was obtained !

Iraq? I think not !
Iran?...Don't even go there - (figure of speech, but, if the cap fits...)
