Can it be just me but... Iraq and Iran are "neighbouring countries".. so, where exactly are these U.S. Surge troops going to end up?

George W Bush has once again told NATO they must send more troops to help out....?? http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/02/15/bush.ap/index.html?eref=rss_politics

Where?

Why?

It's a sure damn thing they'll NOT being going to the REAL SOURCE of this supposed "war on terrorism" otherwise every troop on the ground in this 2nd Gulf war would be going STRAIGHT TO AFGHANISTAN... "do not pass go, do not collect $200".. and do not chase the oil !!!

AFGHANISTAN is NOT a NATO war, but, it is recognised to be the source of this recent terror campaign and is therefore justified conflict. It is SUPPOSED to be a U.S.-LED coalition force....

77% U.S. troops were withdrawn in 2003 from there once NATO/UK help was obtained !

Iraq? I think not !
Iran?...Don't even go there - (figure of speech, but, if the cap fits...)

perhaps the surge in deaths and injured occupation soldiers is starting to wear. their is no way the occupiers are giving their true war dead, no country does ever, you only find out years later a number that slightly approaches the true figure. basically this war is an imperialist jaunt, that turned into a popular resistance. the resistance would not be able to operate so openly if they did not have the support of the people, combined with the peoples hatred of being occupied by the anglo's. some of these occupations troops will surge right into body bags, others will surge into wheelchairs, some may find limbs surging off, others will fill gaps left by occupation soldiers that surged to their deaths

Those soldiers are going to be in the streets of Baghdad. I guess you haven't been listening. That's the whole point of the surge.

As far as a US led coaltion force in Afghanistan, I thought that's exactly what the world wanted us to get away from? Handing over control to NATO, which has taken on the ISAF mission gladly since it also affects Europe and the world, was a step in the right direction in order to get world wide support for the GWOT.

ANOTHER MAN WHO FALLS FOR LIBERAL PROPAGANDA!!I AM IN THE MILITARY ON 2ND TOUR IN IRAQ. YOU KEEP WATCHING YOUR CNN AND MSNBC OR WHOEVER.
FACT IS: THE IRANIANS ARE A PROBLEM HERE, THEY HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS. WE NOW HAVE 75% MORE TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN THAN BEFORE NATO TOOK OVER. PLEASE CHECK YOUR MYTHICAL FACTORING.
YOU BELIEVE TERRORISM IS ONLY IN AFGHANISTAN, THEN YOU ARE NOT VERY KEEN ON THE SUBJECT.
IF IRAN KEEPS SUPPLYING OUR ENEMIES WITH WEAPONS TO KILL US, THEN I SAY WE TAKE THEM OUT ALSO.
AS FAR AS BEING STRETCHED THIN AS THE PROPAGANDA SAYS, WE HAVE 140,000 MILITARY MEN & WOMEN HERE. THE ARMY ALONE HAS OVER 1 MILLION NOT COUNTING OTHER BRANCHES. SO PLEASE DONT BELIEVE WE ARE STRUNG OUT.
ALSO, DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR IN NEWS ? REMEMBER OUR ENEMIES SEE WHAT YOU SEE ON THERE ALSO, SO BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE MOST OF OUR MISSIONS CLASSIFIED. TRUTH IS YOU DONT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. AND SOME THINGS NEED TO REMAIN THAT WAY FOR THE NATIONS SECURITY.

Hmmm.
Smells a little fishy to me.
Not to mention 3500 new troops in Afghanastan, Iran's other major border, and 3 major air bases in other surrounding countries.
Not to mention another aircraft carrier heading to the gulf.
Not to mention new evidence coming out about Iran's involvement in Iraq.
