The Laws & bureaucracy we inherited from the British essentially treat the nation and its citizens as those from an occupied territory. The mind set is frozen as if the entire country consists of slaves of the government and those in power.

The polity we developed never treated the common man as equals to the so called members of the government (actually piblic servents). On the contrary,a VIP and VVIP cult has been developed; matters related to the public have been hidden from the public under various laws and acts eg Official Secrets Act.

The new Right to Information Act gives the people immense rights to acquire information from public bodies, authorities, et al. How-ever, people are loathe to make use of same for the fear of invoking the ire of powers that be.

Add to it the vote-bank politics which pits people against people on the pretext of "Justice to the impoverished" but ends up serving the better off people of the so-called impoverished classes.

Further, lets take a look at the law making bodies- the parliament, legislatures, et al:
1. Percentage average voting: 50%
2. Percentage average votes polled by winning candiadates: 30 % of votes polled ==15% of total vote enabled population
3. Percentage average legislators attending the voting on crucial issues: 50% ==7.5% of total vote enabled population
4. percentage average votes secured by a legislations (of legislators present and voting)= 60% == 4.5% of total vote enabled population

Hence, it is the representation of just about 4.5% people that enacts laws. Again, what is the percentage of reasonably educated persons voting to the actual votes polled? Under 10% .
Hence, the polity is growing corrupt by the day and in consequence, the bureaucracy, and even sections of the judiciary.

It is the people who are making the problem of corruption to have its root get deepened into the layers of earth. the reason we can ay for this is from chodhood onwards we are making the corruptive nature as a part of life in our children by bribing them with the chocolates when ever they ask for some costlier things etc., . at that time we can think that this will make the child get satisfied at that time but we al should remember that today's children are tomorrows citizens . Now the people who are asking for bribes are also the children sometime back. if we can inculcate the habit of good things in the child's life during their childhood then the problem can gets solved by itself

India is so corrupt because the people tolerate the wrongdoings of the politicians. The irregularities must be exposed to media so that they will forced to be tried by the courts.

bcz corruption is accepted in all of its forms in our society.
We all encourage corruption ( either taking or giving money to get the things done )

We are all responsible for it,
Now its got to a point where there needs to be a major surgery for the society to stop this deadly disease.

Every politician (99%) is corrupted but still if scandal comes in the news we act like he is the first person as corrupted.
like bangaru laxman, laloo , jaya etc.......

All it takes is guts and firm decision that we won't encourage the corruption in any form, stood by this decision. atleast one in hundred. you pass the same values to ur family members and kids may be ........may be one day it will barely exists.

We need to understand that India is a developing country and many people are still illiterate. I dont want to criticize politics but it is the only profession that does not need any education.
Hence many people who want money and not the development of the country are becoming C.Ms.
the people who are voting have to have presence of mind. Only this way our country can progress.
