The state is CT. I am 26, the driver is over the legal age for drinking also. In fact no one in the car would be under age.

A few days ago Germany (the new president of The EU since 2007) announced (speculated for a while) they would begin trying to build a trans-atlantic free trade area between Europe (EU) and NAFTA (US, CDN, MEX).

So do you people think this is a good idea? I think its a great way to rival Russia & China. Perhaps we need to do this.

Whats next? A political intergration?

Regardless of where you stand on the Iraq war, do you think 21,000 more troops constitutes the term "surge". I was thinking at least 75,000 if not 100,000. I supported the idea of going in and killing Saddam now let's get out and let Iraqis fight for Iraq's future. If Bush wanted a "surge" then he should of asked for 75k or more arriving overnight ready for killing anyone who made a move. That's how you end a stalemate war!!!

when i was i school i was a liberal, i didn't join the military i was againist war NO MATTER WHAT i didn't care about anything but myself but when i got out and started a life of my own and had to take of myself i slowly started paying attention to what was going on around me and in my country, i started looking at the different veiws (lib & con) and realized that the way i was thinking was wrong for me. when i saw how some people would put a plants or a animals life ahead of a humans life or the advancement of man NO MATTER WHAT or wanted to take away my freedom to bear arms and the right use public lands and do away with the military that protected those rights, i knew i wasn't a liberal.
looking back i wish i had joined the military and had started paying attention to life and the things that went on around me sooner, but i didn't and now i am glad to be a conservative and i'm not the only i care about anymore. so how about it? are you lib turn con or a con turned lib?

Back to Story - Help
Criticism comforts enemy By Andrew C. McCarthy and Clifford D. May
Fri Jan 12, 7:14 AM ET

Opponents of President Bush's plan for salvaging the dire situation in Iraq have every right to speak out. And those in Congress who believe it pointless to do anything other than accept defeat have the power to cut off funds.

But the President of the United States has rights and powers as well. He is the commander in chief, and his war-fighting abilities cannot be micro-managed. The president's critics also should consider how their words sound to those dispatching suicide bombers, planting roadside bombs and looking forward to the day they can burn down the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on CNN and al-Jazeera.

Skepticism about the new approach is widespread - and not just among Democrats. There are those who fear Bush is not committing enough troops to get the job done. Others worry that the administration's actions won't match Bush's rhetoric. Some say the plan relies too much on Iraqi officials and forces that have proven unreliable.

There are two logical responses: Propose a better way forward, or candidly call for the United States to accept defeat - without trying to spin that as "redeployment" or some other transparent euphemism.

In the end, we don't think most Democrats will want to be in the position of saying they support the troops in Iraq even as they hold back the reinforcements needed to complete their mission.

After the swift toppling of Saddam Hussein's regime, things got tougher. Some leading Democrats have tried to draw a distinction between the war in Iraq (a war they overwhelming favored at the start) and the wider war on terrorism. The distinction was never valid, and today it is less so than ever. Osama bin Laden himself regards Iraq as the central front in al-Qaeda's jihad.

There's no sugarcoating it: A defeat for the United States in Iraq would be a victory for our mortal enemies. It would lead to other defeats for U.S. forces on other battlefields. It would guarantee more terrorism and more dead American citizens.

So scrutinize and criticize, if you must. But then give us a plan to win. Our nation can accept nothing less.

Andrew C. McCarthy is a former federal prosecutor and director of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies' Center for Law & Counterterrorism. Clifford D. May is president of the FDD.

I know illegal means they broke the law, but how many people out there have not came to a complete stop at a stop sign or went 5 miles over the speed limit.Alot of you guys have and that means you broke the law, but how would you feel if people considered you some kind of horrible criminal for that?I don't think you'd be considered a criminal for that, just like I don't consider illegals coming here illegally criminals. Now if they were to rob somebody or kill or rape somebody, then yes I would call them criminals.I know illegals do those kind of things as well as Americans, but the minority of the illegals do those things, not the majority.

I found the hardest part of being a Police Officer is controlling my temper in the face of some snot nosed "daddys little rich kid" that has never had to abide by any rules. Not only is everyone of them a SH*T house lawyer, but these little snots truly believe they are above the laws and rules and that anyone who says anything to them is instantly labeled a jerk. That includes;Teachers, Parents, Judges, supervisors and Police Officers. I especially love the gutless parents who get treated like crap from these little jerks, but then come flying to their rescue with the same old phrase, " My little child could never have done that," Any other people have this same problem?? Man, I'd love to have these little pukes in my old platoon for just 24 hours!!

In my school district, we have many academies and learning centers apart of the FRHSD (freehold reginal high school district) one of the academies is NJROTC. I am the opposite of the girlygirl but not in the best shape. I am also not planing on joining the Navy. But it is good for leadership skills and self confidence and i REALLY need self confidence. It also looks fun but hard work. I already applied but if i get in should i accept the offer?

Do you not think that he is loosing the ground for his reasoning against the war in Iraq? I think he has absolutley no clue, and is also ill advised by the advisory's that are on his team? I think he can't get himself out of it, and If he admits to have done more mistakes, he will committ political suicide? would it be wise to get ride of him now and get a new President that will put American's ideology back where they belong?

Why do Americans think Europeans hate them ?
I mean, how can a whole continent hate you.
I have been on holiday there three times. Before i went, i was told the same thing i tell other potential travellers to the US, and that was about the friendlyness and genuine nature of the ordinary american.
You live too close to your own people to appriciate them, and you live too far from the Europeans to understand them.
Cheers from Europe.

Imagine in the future ( not to far ahead though ) some sort of unforseen event causes world communication to be useless ( this could be man made or natural ). The following wars take place without any support being dispatched rapidly, airstrikes not available only basic equipment and rations available.

USA - Great Britain
USA - Canada
Canada - Great Britain
China - USA
Russia - USA
Russia - China
Great Britain - China
Russia - Great Britain

Take note all these wars are fought in a urban surrounding. A city or town in a country that both armys are not from. For example USA - Great Britain fought in Moscow.

Who do you think would win and would would win if all were to fight everybody for them selves.

Remember that no fancy equipment is available and only basics are used.
