We have an 18 year old water heater that is leaking for the second time. Last time the plumber came out he said the it was illegal and not up to code to not have a "release valve" on it, and it never should have passed inspection or been installed. (This law requiring the valves has been in place for longer than that I was told).

My question is, since the original installer of the water heater is out of business, I can't sue them for damages. But, shouldn't the city govt. inspectors take the responsibility for this mess and pay for having it replaced? I don't know, but I assume they approved it when our house was built (it was all built at the same time when the water heater was installed). This doesn't seem right, and now I'm stuck with a dangerous and costly repair. Thanks.

Here we are, just everyday citizens, keeping up the faith by discussing civil participation and these people like Al Gore, Dr. Dot Head, U2, ... come on here asking questions when they are in the position to actually do something.

Come on. I am just asking to call a spade a spade. I'll admit I am an evangelical Christian communist that has never served in the military due to health (and no, not mental!) who is an ardent anti-abortionist, anti-racist, pro-Israel, pro-Bush, pro-immigration, pro civil unions, pro welfare.

All I am asking is for the Libs to admit what they are. How is that wrong?

If our troops could return home once we have won in Iraq, then what exactly does winning mean? Does it mean peace in the streets of Iraq? Does it mean rebuilding can begin? Does it mean that our enemies are crushed? Does it mean that there is no more violence on the streets? What do you think this means?

Lets stop all the bickering, its so obvious that the Democrats will always be corrupt and we might as well both, Democrats and Republicans go ahead and agree with that statement and move on to other discussions! Let's start with a discussion about the corrupt Democrats and decide when they should be removed from office!!

I contacted a private school today regarding enrolling my daughters. One of my daughters has a bone disease that causes her pain. The superintendant actually had the nerve to tell me that my "normal" child was a shoe-in, but he would have to ask around before agreeing to enroll the other..

He lost his state Democratic primary, so he ran as an "independent" in the general election and won. -- How come he's not an "Independent" in the Senate??? If he was an Independent, he would have no right to the chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee (which he holds now), and I don't believe he would retain his senate seniority. So why was he allowed to do this???

Why are the Democrats allowing the people under investigation for criminal activity to remain in office? The Republicans forced the people in their party to resign, what is the difference, is it that the Democrats condone illegal activity so long it is in their party?

When I picked my daughter up from school today, she was in tears as her cell phone and Ipod (Christmas present) were stolen from her gym locker as well as a few other girls. She said the teacher is to lock the room while they are in class but today it wasn't locked. Normally the teacher rushes them to get dressed out so she can lock it! Also, the students are required to use the locks provided by the school. Someone got into these locks, perhaps with a "teacher" key... I smell a rat. What is even more upsetting are the idiots who run the school! I called to report this to an administrator and was told to file a police report on my own, unbelievable. He never took my name or anything, just "well no one else has reported it" and just what did he think I was calling for? I am planning to file suit in small claims as the school failed here on so many levels. Please save the "she should have left the Ipod at home"speeches, I have already done this with her and no one deserves this.

I'm about a year away from getting my Bachelors in Communications. Is it possible to get a PAID position for a political campaign if you don't "have connections" like family in politics? I have private sector experience but I also think there could be a demand for campaigns since I would graduating right around the presidential primary time.
