Help, please. I lent me niece $700 for a downpayment for a used car (off a small lot) which cost about $2500 and cosigned on a loan for the balance due. She also signed an "As-Is/No Warranty". Trouble is the car had trouble from day one: blown hose and a brake problem. Guy took it back, fixed the probs, returned her the car. Then the battery went. She replaced that. Around month 4 the valves went and the car is finished. Tried to contact the guy and an employee claims he is in the hospital w/ cancer. In the meantime niece went out bought another car and stopped making payments on this one since she can't afford both payments but needs a car.

Now I just got a letter is the mail saying they're going to repossess the car. And the balance of the loan is due.

What recourse if any do we have in getting the seller to take the car back and make the loan balance zero? Are there any "Lemon" Laws (and is there a statute of limitations)? Small claims court? Need advice please

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim while admitting that he was "once a Muslim," mitigating that damning information by saying that, for two years, he also attended a Catholic school. Obama's spinmeisters are now attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came from his father (omitting the stepfather's influence) and that his father's influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya immediately following the divorce and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.

However, Obama's stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, greatly and directly influenced the education of his stepson as a good Muslim by enrolling him in one of Jakarta's Wahabbi schools. (Wahabbism is the most radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the industrialized world.)

Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when you are seeking political office in the United States, Obama joined the United Church of Christ to help purge any notion that he is still a Muslim.

Something to consider very, very carefully....

AND OPRAH IS BACKING HIM.

There are three people in my department. My boss (24 years of service), my co-worker (22 years of service) and myself (5 years of service). He will never say anything to my co-worker, if she makes an error, because he is afraid she will cry or take offense and work slower. He has actually said this to me.
One time there was a project that she worked on and she slipped up. It was a pretty big error because the poster we worked on will be hung in a large store chain. When the error was pointed out to me he ranted and raved and demanded an explaination from me. I had reminded him, very nicely, that I wasn't on that project and I wasn't even in that day. When my co-worker entered his tone completely changed... he asked her very gently if she knew what the problem was and why this little error happened.
Does that make any sense at all?

Who wins the wars?

Aside from what the politicians think, and how they think they can win the war in Iraq, how do YOU think this war can be won? Here is your chance to tell the world (even the President) how this war can be won. Obviously, you must take into account our current state of affairs, including all the lives that have already been lost and the potential for more lives to be lost. This question is for a military solution alone. I will post a separate question for a political solution, if there could be one.

I know that the Iraqi's should fight their own battles. If we leave alqeda will take over then they will have the run of the country and they could really harm the U.S. then. I just don't think we should pull out of Iraq. fight on.Does anyone agree with me?

Seriously, I'm sick of things like. Look at this post by a european:
"we don't hate americans, you are just people sharing the same planet, it's not your fault your leader is a warmongering racist"
And i also love this excuse:
"we don't hate you we just hate your corrupt facist government!!!"
Europe and Canada have a severe anti-american problem
How would Canada like it if we constantly bashed their government. What if we constantly compaliend about their billingual disaster. What if we constantly said "viva la quebec libre!"
Europe-- What if we constantly complained about how Soviet-like and undemocratic the EU entry and elections are. Would europeans begin to hate us(they already do but lets just pretend).
The whole "we hate yoru government" thing is a lame excuse. This insults the intelligence of the american people. They are basically saying, "we don't hate you, the dumb idiots that elected the people to office, we just hate the government".
