I don't know. I think the Federal Government should have a place where the homeless can go for job training and job placement. They would be given enough money to live on for a 2 years so they could go to school or be trained for a job. Everyone would have this one chance to get off the street.

The US government and the states have many programs to help the homeless.
But the homeless don't want to help themselves.
They are either lazy or mentally ill. Okay there might be some temporary homeless people, but anyone with self respect will pull themselves out of such situations.

First of all. There are programs. Most homeless are single individuals with severe problems. Many like their lives and enjoy freedoms you and i do not have. Freeloading their way through life. They might look at us and feel we are bad off. Offer the next one you see a job and see what they say. They will turn you down or ask for money. The Democrats have had a war on poverty for almost 50 years. Hundreds of millions have been spent. There are about the same amount of people below the poverty level now. A certain percentage of people you cannot help.

Same reason there are still so many homeless after Katrina, the money is IN IRAQ! Jesus said, "The poor you have with you always," over 2000 years ago. Only God says things and they stand true, timelessly. As when he walked the earth, there is also a lack of compassion.

Why do socialists call for get proper of entry to to each thing and settle for accountability for not something? you're saying that you're from a truly prosperous stratum of society. Your words should be extra outstanding in case you would been born in a ghetto and develop right into a helpful professional. you're what human beings call a "champagne socialist." Tony Blair and Anthony Wedgwood Benn of the British Labour social gathering were too. If one has no concern of dropping ones own safe practices, you'll have the funds for to be magnanimous in direction of "the undesirable." operating human beings, who wade through from taxation, are attentive to neighbours who stay off the dole. it truly is why conservatism is by technique of no skill constrained to the better instructions, and it really is the reason Margaret Thatcher replaced into the kind of fulfillment. finally, socialism is heavily stated with commerce unionism - a company that some time previous had validity yet immediately isn't any better than legalized extortion. extremely, Unions are companies interior the advocacy organisation and regardless of efficient factors they make for his or her individuals, they continuously make better efficient factors for themselves. except that, i imagine socialism is in simple terms peachy.

Yes, there are many homeless shelters, food programs, and job placement or many other options which can lead to short and/or long-term housing.

They do. But why is it the government's responsibility to provide these services. I guess the copy of the constitution i read was missing the page where people are no longer responsible for themselves and the government will provide everything.
