Is there a most common gun/guns used in street crime?, and would identifying that gun make any difference in the gun crimes committed. What have you seen used most?

Look for brands like Bryco and Star Arms.

Often in useless calibers like .25 and .32

Criminals will use what ever is available to them. The are not usually gun savvy and don't know a good gun from a poor one.

But the problem is NOT the GUN but the criminal. Instead of worring about the tool why not worry about the person using it? Yes it is harder but then it affects only the criminals and not the rest of us. Gun laws have NEVER been proven in this country to reduce crime. The CDC even admits that it can't show that gun laws do anything to reduce crime. And neither can the Brady Bunch or any other anti-gun group.

Yet criminologist Professors Gary Kleck and John Lott have mountians of evidence that shows the more guns (regardless of type) in the hands of law abiding citizens, then there is less crime.

Lott's studies have been debunked time and time again by more than a few reputable universities.
The CDC has not been funded in decades. So the reply is not accurate.
Having said that, gun control is not the only answer.
