I found the hardest part of being a Police Officer is controlling my temper in the face of some snot nosed "daddys little rich kid" that has never had to abide by any rules. Not only is everyone of them a SH*T house lawyer, but these little snots truly believe they are above the laws and rules and that anyone who says anything to them is instantly labeled a jerk. That includes;Teachers, Parents, Judges, supervisors and Police Officers. I especially love the gutless parents who get treated like crap from these little jerks, but then come flying to their rescue with the same old phrase, " My little child could never have done that," Any other people have this same problem?? Man, I'd love to have these little pukes in my old platoon for just 24 hours!!

I recently left a teaching job at a private school that catered to teens like this. I have always loved teaching and loved my students, but I decided to try secondary teaching after several years of elementary school. I poured myself and financial resources into my classroom and the kids... as I always have... but found that the majority of the kids had major attitude problems with me -- JUST BECAUSE I WAS the TEACHER. I tried so hard to help them succeed, but they whined and complained... and got their parents to threaten lawsuits, when they didn't study and then failed.

The last straw for me was when a student and his mom came to school, unannounced, and both began verbally lambasting me (the student had refused to do any work, including extra credit work, had failed the 9 weeks, and was about to miss the first 3 basketball games). The 11th grade student leaned up against the door, so that I could not leave had I wanted to ... the mom, meanwhile leaned closer and closer... I thought she was going to hit me.. and was hoping she would, so I could press charges.

I promised them all kinds of stuff they wanted, just so I could leave. When I reported this to the administration, they swept the whole incident under the rug and raised the boy's grade to passing. I resigned in December.

Six months ago, I would have disagreed with you. Here's hoping I can get hired again in elementary school.

I'm a juvenile jail officer and i have to put up with them everyday. I just love to see their faces when i have to tell them no. They are like but i know so and so and i'm like FU kid your on lock down. It's fun but i'm the one who puts up with the kids after the patrol officers drop them off so i get all the crap even from the parents. Walk a day in my shoes and see what you get. Screw the kids of our world because if they are our future then i want to be shot.

I don't like this attitude from anyone. Most of my shift is spent with transients and drug addicts. These people are generally not as snotty. I can however imagine how frustrating it would be.

If I had been rude to a cop I would be in deep trouble with my parents. besides if you suck up to cops you have a better chance of them leting you off if you commit a crime.
