No they are not. Once a bullet hits, the fibers are stretched out of place to stop the bullet and the vest is no good. A vest is made up of millions of strands of very strong fabric. The velocity of a bullet is slowed to a stop by these layers of strands. If you look at a vest, its actually kind of scary because it looks like a really heavy jacket and not something that could stop a round. Depending on the level of vest, some loose there effectiveness with mutliple hits in the same incident. But, no, once hit, they are NOT reused. Most manufacturers (like second chance) will replace the vest for free.

They aren't designed to be worn after they have taken a round.
The aramid and kevlar fibers are weakened.

It would be better than nothing, but once shot at - just retire it.

BTW, most vests have an expiration date.

No, they're not reusable. They also have a shelf life- meaning they degrade and wear out after X # years.

While it would most likely still provide protection...the tightly woven fabric will be damaged and fibers weakened in the area around the strike,so "better safe than sorry" and change it.

After you've shot at or on a daily basis?

Realistically, they are, even if it took multiple hits, because the likelihood of more rounds hitting those exact same places is very low.
