Given the alliances between the US and both Israel and Saudi Arabia, I was wondering whether the relationship was more a product of our need for bases in the mid-east or the money they invest in the US. I'm sure it is a combination of both, but it would be nice to know which country has more invested in the US in terms of business holdings and property. Anyone have a clue??

Bush's public address
United States President George W Bush says that the current situation in Iraq is unacceptable, and had laid out his new strategy for the country.

President Bush also says the responsibility for any mistakes made over the war-torn country rests with him.

The American leader made the admission while addressing the country during a prime time speech from the Oval Office.

President Bush has revealed a plan to send a further 21,500 troops to the region, mainly to Baghdad and Anbar province.

Under the plan around $1.28 billion will also be pumped into the Iraqi economy.

Part of the plan will also see the Iraqi government take on more responsibility in the country, including taking on the security in all of Iraq's provinces by this November.

President Bush says that if the Iraq government does not keep it's promises it will lose the support of the American people.

Historically, every great military or political power has enjoyed a long, yet limited, period of dominance. Consider the Egyptian Pharaohs, the Roman Empire, and more recently (historically speaking) the British Empire.

Almost daily, we are seeing evidence of the USA's fall from grace.

How long, in your estimation, does the U.S. have until total economic or political collapse (or both)??

I am not talking about a system in which the government owns corporations and distributes the earning equally, I am talking about the people themselves, all privately owning equal amounts of stock of corporations (legally unable to trade the stock however, because it would result in unequal ownership of stock).

I had c-span on all day today, and heard 3 democrat congressmen calling for exactly that.

I don't know why I listened to it today, it was full of ignorant, uninformed yes men/women for the democratic party.

Is science inspiring murder?

And how ethical is medicine/science? the condoning of killing a preborn human, and the torture of billions of animals?

Is there a better way? Or is it all in the hands of the bad guys and ethics is for wimps?

And I mean from EITHER party.

I don't feel I need some political comentator to tell me what I should think. Do you???
Does the media think the American public is too stupid to think for themselves???
Couldn't we just have the speeches on TV without all the comments from anyone from either party.

I feel the media is CREATING a lot of tension between both parties for their own gain. The news is supposed to report news not create it. I don't like the way they try to tell us how to think. I have a good brain and can do that myself.
How do you feel?

If you were given a choice either to go to Iraq or stay at your duty station/home...which would you choose.
Nevermind that it's your duty, what you signed up for, to do what you're told to do. I want to know your personal choices. Peace to all!

The people in those countries think that when they die they're going to spend eternity with Allah and 40 virgins etc. So surely killing them all would be doing them a favor.

Why should US and British troops continue to die for people who don't deserve to even be called human? They all hate us. The people in those counties have nothing to live for, they'd be better off dead.

If we nuked them, no more troops would die, but all the crazy Islamic nuts would die.

If seen many people insist they don't care what our allies/former allies think about our foreign policy.

My question is is it feasible for Americans to fight a war on terror when none of our allies or former allies will contribute to the war effort?

And doesn't ostracizing other countries inevitably leave us at a severe disadvantage when it comes to World Wars or Global efforts, seeing as we will be forced to bear the brunt of the loss of life and monetary costs?

Republicans believe very strongly in the so called "War on Terror" but don't give a moment's hesitation to how our foriegn policy has put us at a severe disadvantage in fighting it.
