What IS an "American"?
"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German,
Spanish,Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican,African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as nativeAmericans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or
Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will
answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs
claiming to speak for the government and for God. An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the
world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of
Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return. When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan . Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America . Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did
General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American."

I have a question concerning pawn regulations.
My boyfriend let a supposed friend borrow his $3000 camera and its equipment. He assisted him in taking pictures of the CW33 newsteam a few months ago. The guy, David Fowler, never gave him his camera back. He kept trying to call him and always got excuses. One day, he called him again and this time David Fowler's roommate answered his cell phone. The roommate told my boyfriend that Fowler had pawned his camera. I'm not sure of the amount but I know it was for several hundred dollars. Well, Fowler was arrested for not returning a rental car. He was bailed out of jail sometime after. My boyfriend's camera has been sitting in the pawn shop...with interest. He must pay about $900 to get it out. He TRIED to file a police report but they turned him down since it technically was not stolen property. Are there any laws or regulations that protect the victim in this case? I think it's pretty ridiculous that my boyfriend has to pay that much.

Stupid police came in my house to check up on my brother because he is on parole. First of all, one guy just came knocking my door and ask me to go to the living room. He was just going to check if there is any body in my room and the police did that to all the rooms. I mean I got pretty piss off when I ask one officer if they had a search warrant or something like that and they started to say **** like, "O we can do this because of my brother's position." Than one officer was like stop asking question because I need to learn some law first. I mean WTF do they think they are telling me I need to learn some laws before I start talking.

Anyways any tips of how to handle this situation or other please help me out.

I thought President Clinton made a convincing case for the war in Iraq, which he began building during his first campaign and made clear while he was still president--we have to finish the job of deposing Saddam, WMD's, etc. When Kerry and Bush both said it I was thoroughly convinced. Bush was a Johnny Come Lately on the war drum and I wouldn't have believed him alone. Oddly, as soon as he started to say it, Democrats expressed reservations, then they VOTED FOR IT, then immediately said we couldn't win a war there. Then and now, in switching their opinion based on the opposite of whatever Bush said, it destroyed all Democrat credibility in my eyes. What are your views on Democrats?

So you don't like homosexuals, then try like hell not to become one (since you say it's a choice) and stay away from them. Let them pursue their own happiness.

So you don't agree with the practice of abortion. Don't have one and let those who wish to have one the freedom of their choice.

So you don't want your kids to learn about evolution and you want creationism taught as science. Take your kids out of public schools and let the vast majority of us who want our kids to learn real science alone.
