I think some liberals are thinking: Usa will retreat someday-anyways.More troops will be lost anyways. Its been almost so long since the allies have been in Iraq anyways. There isn't that much of a threat?
Conservatives believe the job is still half done and the enemies will become stronger- that is if the Usa leaves now.
History has shown both to be right. I personally think Usa has to fight for its survival. Like Bush said "We aim to be a competitive nation." Well trust me, this idea of Bush was never new to Americans. I personally believe Usa is in trouble any way. Usa is just in a really really big mess. Conservatives after Iraq don't be so "nice" to other nations so they don't stab you in the back. If Usa was just neutral and only dealed with its own concerns- then yeah it wouldn't get ****** and **** other countries all the time.

This one doesn't. It sucks that we went into Iraq, I was dead set against it. But we messed their country up and now we have to get it stable before we leave.

The don't want to retreat, they want to declare victory and redeploy to other regions in the area. If you are so concerned about the U.S. losing, then enlist in the Army and go over there. See if your views change then.
