they'd much rather have an electable conservative retard as President than a smart /articulate, pro choice, liberal one?

There have been far more bad US Presidents than good ones which is partly due to the nature of the job and partly due to the person elected. I use to be a Republican but Bush went so far over the deep end & is so completely ignorant that he gives bad President a whole knew meaning but Hilary is almost too smart, power hungry & too radical to be a good President either. The last thing the US needs is another radical President from the left or th right. A moderate, which is what most Americans are, President would be perfect (always perfect).

You mean like, maybe someone who wasn't very smart, but sounded familiar because maybe his dad had been President?

I have to congratulate you, in part; I thought for sure this was going to be a Bush bashing question; kudos on not going there, at least not straight out. As for the rest, as long as people on both sides of the aisle keep lumping all of the opposition together as to their beliefs, etc., even though some belief systems and single beliefs cross the aisles, this nation is going to keep being polarized and we are never going to again have the America the Founding Fathers envisioned. If we can all try to simply be Americans, for once, maybe we will one day have that America.

The more I have been learning lately, the more I am realizing that it doesn't make any difference who is president, or which party is in "power", because none of them are anything more than puppets for the people who are really running things all over the world. They have gotten their power by gaining control of all the money!!!!!

Many people use superficial reasons as justification for their choices for President. And by many people, I mean conservatives and liberals alike.
