I'm a dual citizen (born in USA/naturalized Canadian) who has lived in Canada now for the past 42 years. I have raised my children in Canada. Personally, I feel that Canada is better for raising a family. I think it is safer in Canada. Your children are far less likely to ever have to go fight in wars, although we do have soldiers in Afghanistan right now. It's hard to say, though. It depends on your priorities. I have relatives in both countries and I don't see any difference in happiness or success of the families. While northern Canada, of course, is colder, there are still many areas in southern Canada that have the same weather of the northern United States. One is probably as good as the other and I think you should just research where you may find the best employment prospects, depending on what your work is. If you can give your children dual citizenships, all the more opportunities for their futures. I love having dual citizenship as I think it is the best of both worlds. One of my two children also has dual citizenship. He can choose to work and live in either country whenever he wants.

USA hand dowm. Please Canada have a horrible climate and a hight porcentage of suicides among teenagers.

USA can be dangerous as we all know, but this is also true in Canada and some places.

Stay in USA, take your kids camping in the houndres of National Parks that we have here. Keeping away from the TV as much as possible and make sure that they hung out only with kids that are affecting him in a positive way.

Canada is terrific, but the problems we have, it is starting to get, too, there is just a small enough population still that it hasn't sunk in there yet.

If you come to the US you could stay close to the northern border (I'd suggest midwest but not Minnisota) and have the best of both worlds. Or, live in Canada, but south, like in BC.

Best of luck!

Both are lovely countries. The US has some problems, just like Canada, but I would probably say the US because we have a wide variety of different geological locations to live (and it's my country, so obviously im going to like it a little more)

Canada is safer and more educated and doesn't have an egomaniac running the show and starting illegal wars. You also don't get poor if you get sick (or pregnant).

Canada has a much much lower murder rate, despite having similar firearm ownership rates.

Canada also has energy reserves which may make it rich in the future.

I'm a proud American, so I guess my answer would be biased :)

But doesn't Canada give you free health care, that's a plus? But I do know it's way harder for people to get into Canada then it were for someone to get into America.

"The United Nations ranked Canada sixth on its Human Development Index for 2006. The country's standard of living, health care system, educational attainment, housing, cultural and recreational facilities, level of public safety and tourist opportunities are all of an exceptionally high quality."

The U.S. ranks 8th.
