More specifically, who really likes trial lawyers? You know, the guys on tv commercials all the time asking if you've recently been in a wreck, been hurt, etc.

If anyone is interested, a private group called The National Security Archive is posting on its Internet site some of the hundreds of thousands of government documents it has collected on the scandal, including some about Gates.

After his role in Iran/Contra became known in 1987, his nomination to become CIA director was derailed, but Gates stayed on in government, survived the political bloodletting, was renominated by President George H.W. Bush four years later and confirmed by the Senate.

(yes that is an Iranian news source but sometimes to find a story, I have to go to foreign presses)

I don't have the link yet for the archives but will get my hands on them soon.

How do we know they are law abiding? If we had no way to find out, or no right to background checks, would MORE criminals buy guns? What about those who otained their firearm legally, and then used it in a crime? Are there any of those people out there?

it has been apparent to anyone for years, with an iq above 1...that immigrants have never wished to intergrate and live the british way of life,,,they wish to bring their way of life over here, their own laws hence they all tend to live in a particular place, together.there are some immigrants here for forty years and still speak no english.Yet still parliament has closed its eyes to where this self segregation will eventually lead to trouble,Brits are leaving almost at the same rate immigrants are coming in....wake up Blair....and no i am not being racist.

I've heard some people say that homosexuals shouldn't raise children. Mary Cheney is planning on raising her child with her partner, whom she calls her wife, even though they can't legally get married. I was wondering if anyone thinks she shouldn't be doing this. Please give me some reasons as to why not.

If it isn't banning guns, why are some people against controlling who we sell them to? There are limits to free speech (libel, slander, yelling fire falsely in a crowded theater) ther eare restrictions on the death penalty ( can't be cruel or unusual) there are restrictions on abortion, restrictions on voting, restrictions on arrest, etc...why the problem with gun restriction?

IMO if they had not made this ruling then Saddam could have been taken out with out a war. The Clinton administration could have also taken Osama when he was offered up during Clinton's presidency.

Say for example someone who was previously responsible for the nations health and discouraged smoking then goes and works for a tobacco company promoting smoking. Is it ok for the person to do this as it's their decision or should they not take the position due to their history in the public limelight?

If anyone has any knowledge of ethical theories that would be great!

During some crisis moments in my depression, I was mental health arrested for self harm, and the police took me to the hospital on more then one occasion. Afterwards, it seems as though I was a joke to the local PD and whenever they saw me again they acted pissed. Don't they realize depression is an illness, and sometimes were are not always responsible for our thoughts and actions?
