During some crisis moments in my depression, I was mental health arrested for self harm, and the police took me to the hospital on more then one occasion. Afterwards, it seems as though I was a joke to the local PD and whenever they saw me again they acted pissed. Don't they realize depression is an illness, and sometimes were are not always responsible for our thoughts and actions?

Sometimes Dr.'s like to switch things up. It takes time to get one medication out of your system, and for the other ones to get into it. Medication doesn't always work- I have found that out the hard way. I always take my meds, because without them, I'm a different person.

Emotionally Disturbed Person, or EDS, have a very high propensity to resort to extreme violence against police officers. Many have been killed. It seems the system doesn't help because when I take someone in for a mental health hold, they seem to be back on the street without any help. Worse there's nothing I can do to get them help.

Hey part time leo how would you feel if someone said we should just execute all the leos. I suffer from depression as well, take my meds and stay home alot because of people like you. It is no ones fault when they suffer from depression. It is a chemical imbalance. that being said here is some info for the person posing this question if you have problems keeping up with your meds you may be able to get a personal assistant to help you keep up with your meds and your day to day living. People still live in the dark ages when it comes to mental illness more folks have it than are willing to admit it because of the stigma attached to it. Good luck

hi sweetie wow your dealing with a whole lot. okay first off you realizes your not thinking clearly and you need some kind of help. but the paranoia from you not thinking clear is feeding on your fear's of shame addiction being lab led on your forehead you probably feel everyone will be able to see, but they cannot i promise you. first off with no or low income go to your social service's dept and apply for i assume your 18 or older. adult medicaid. that's what it;s there for. then find a physcitrist that accept's medicaid and see them as soon as possible. what you tell them will not b a big surprise, you are not alone, so many people have felt this way you do in the past. asking for help is not weak, we all need help sometime's. and you dying is not going to solve the problem. all those negative thought's your having are part of whatever chemical's that are misfiring in your brain, you get the chemical balance back and they will go away and if you don't won't med's i'm sure the doctor will try to help but even if you only have to take them for a little bit to help you get over your bump in the road then do it please .you must get help sweetie. your worth something here on earth, you've just lost the way to find it. {{{{{{hug for you}}}} and be well become well and have a happy life it is possible i promise you jamie

Sometimes people take advantage of the system and those that truly need help suffer because of those bad apples.
That being said, if you are so much a danger to yourself and others, you should be in a treatment program.

I don't think they were laughing at you... it maybe that you feel self conscience about yourself going into the hospital. Maybe they were laughing at something else.
Many people don't understand the seriousness of mental health, so maybe some just don't understand...

Well, I am still a parttime LEO and frankly, we are tired of the same people going off their meds and us having to fight them down all the time. I honestly think we should just execute the lot and be done with it.
