I was in a car accident on 11/21. I was injured and taking percocet, flexeril and naproxen inhibiting my abilities to drive and work. I was under doctor's excuses from 11/21 - 12/2. My boss elected to take my vacation away in December to make up for the days missed that were not excused by doctors (3 total, not 5).

I ended up getting fired on the 4th after requesting a family medical leave. I was a dedicated employee and planned on staying at my job until I was at least finsihed with college.

What I don't understand is how an employer can fire someone from being injured in a car accident an unable to come to work due to pain and discomfort along with being on narcotics to releive the pain!

Help!

I was driving along, minding my own business, when I noticed the flash of blue lights in my rearview mirror. A police car was behind me, indicating that I needed to pull over to the side of the road. At that point, many things flashed through my mind. Did the officer see me blow through that stop sign? Did he know that I was doing 80 mph through a 30 mph zone? How would I explain the underage prostitute in the passenger seat, snorting blow off my scrotum?

I went to take a swig from my 40 oz bottle of malt liquor, when I heard a tapping noise on my window. Looking over, there was the officer, motioning for me to open my window. I rolled it down to see what he wanted.

“Do you know how fast you were going?” Asked the officer.

Without even bothering to remove the smoldering joint from my mouth, I let loose with a thunderous, liquor-fueled belch, the likes of which fogged up the officer’s mirror-tinted sun glasses.

If the UK had a referendum on the monarchy (as Australia did in 1999) and became a republic, would Australia, Canada, NZ, etc, automatically become republics, or would the Queen remain head of state of those countries pending separate referendums?

Practically, would any decision about the future of the monarchy in Britain have to be made in conjunction with those other countries?

that they 'Clearly' and 'Publicly' stated. . . ....that the ONLY reason they suggested 'talks' with Iran..... . .was because they KNOW, that Iran will NOT participate in an honorable way, and they wanted THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE, that Iran is not interested in Peace..... ..only 'obstructionism' ????????

It's barely been a day and a half... . ..and already people are showing how little they really pay attention to the actual report, and the Worldwide PUBLIC News Conference !!

What do you think ???

A Calgary homeless man has been fined $115 by police for spitting in a garbage can. They called it "improper disposal of waste", in a campaign that appears geared at bullying the homeless into oblivion. Calgary police have gone on a spree of ticketing the homeless for everything from loitering to littering.
For those of you who don't know, Calgary has been getting filthy rich off oil revenues for the past few years and has passed Toronto has the wealthiest city in Canada. Obviously police are acting this way out of political pressure brought about by the population.
So why is it the rich are so completely oblivious to the problems of the poor and can be so downright cruel?

Just for the record, I consider myself neither rich nor poor, but I think this is appaling.

How can others, who say they still support this incredible mess, justify their opinions? Do you think that among the true believers are many people who don't have any loved ones at risk in Iraq and find it easy to say, "Sure, full speed ahead!!!" I acknowledge that many brave Americans fighting in Iraq still support the war, but I believe they have been brainwashed to do so.

A boyfriend broke into a girlfriend's apartment because he was worried about her pregnancy, drinking, and state of mind. The couple agreed to meet to dicuss having the baby. The agreement was made three days previous to meet on this Saturday (the day of the break-in). The girlfriend did not show up to the meeting, and did not return messages of concern from the boyfriend. After the break-in, the girlfriend told the police that the boyfriend was abusive in the past, and was worried that he broke in to harm her - a lie out of the girlfriends anger. The boyfriend never touched her, much less attempt to harm her. The boyfriend is erroneously charged with burglary with intent to harm. Later, she admits in court under oath that she lied about the abuse. She admitted to making a false report under oath. She also signed an affidavit of nonprosecution. Is there grounds for dismissal of the case due to the chief complaintants admisssion of making a false statement?

I am sure they could do it for less than it is costing our American taxpayers now to put them up in our jails and penitentiaries. It would cost less and give up more space in our facilities. And the threat of being sent back to a jail in Mexico might make some of them think twice about committing a crime here.
