Why do you need a green card? Just come here and stay. Everyone else does. The government will get you housing, feed you, give you free medical care and you don't have to pay any taxes. What more could you ask for? Just don't become a citizen because then the free ride is over. Try California, New York, Texas and Florida. Those seem to be oasis spots for illegals. Oh and Washington DC is the absolute best! Our senators and congressman love to hire illegals to take care of them and they pay really well because they get so much money in kickbacks it means nothing to them anymore.

I would suggest you go to www.uscis.gov. They should tell you definitively. However I don't think you're allowed to stay out of the country for more than 6 months with a green card. My step mother lives in Malaysia with my father. She qualifies for a green card but they never got her one because they don't come back her often enough.
