I think Joe Arpaio should be hailed for his work. I've seen him doing several interviews over the years, and I think he's great. We need more people like him in law enforcement.

Living in tents in the desert isn't cruel or unusual - our soldiers do it all the time. He used to provide them with evaporative coolers, but the inmates kept vandalizing them, so now they "only" have fans. Come on, folks - people have lived in extremely hot climates without air conditioning for ages. That's not cruel - these people aren't on vacation!!

And I think the pink underwear is a hoot. What's so mean about pink underwear?

No. That is cruel and unusual punishment. A better solution would be to set up all jails and prisons as corporations where prisoners would work to make goods that are needed in the United States. The goods would then be sold and the financial gains would be used to run the prison. Prisons could compete on productivity levels and gain extra perks based on performance. This would alleviate work going overseas or to Mexico while letting prisoners pay for their own maintennance. It would also give them skills and self esteem. It would also promote team work and decrease fighting and violence within the facilities. Me for President.

Jail is not a reward it is a punishment...they are being punished and not inhumanely- just not as nice as it could be awww too bad for them.

Wanna stay away from this jail- Don't break the law.

also I would like to question- has anyone been harmed with this solution? I'm not sure- if they are alive and well then I support this. If they are dying I don't.

specific, that's a main occasion on why we could continually no longer enable community law enforcement officers take over. The Feds have already deporting a checklist style of illegals and Obama has placed greater brokers on the border then ever and despatched troops there. those are the people who save us money, and not value us.

No only is it a solution, I think all jails should be like that. Some of my tax paying dollars is going to make sure criminals have cable tv and steak... I think it would stop the repeat offenders. I think tent city is great. They are there because they committed a crime, nothing to laugh at. I think all luxuries of life should be removed from their life. They should be allowed necessities only.

It is a great idea. There should be a lot more tent cities.

Absolutely. Our soldiers in Iraq face much worse every day.

To quote the late Sherriff Gates "If you don't like the accomodations, don't check in."

No. That sounds like cruel and inhuman punishment. They need to find a better solution. I feel sorry for the prisoners. there should be a petition passed to ban this practice.
