If you have ever worked at a homeless shelter, volunteered, or been out on the street you will know that many of these people that are starving just cannot care for themselves...or are too proud to accept a "hand-out."

As for the building of a stadium- it generates revenue and commerce in the local population that brings money and jobs to people directly and indirectly. It fills hotels, restaurants, and brings people from "outside" the market to spend this money. It also creates a gathering place for the city for concerts, rallies, and sporting events- and also fundraisers etc.

To say that the state would rather build a stadium and not feed the homeless is baseless. We are a money rich country with our ipods and tv's not a poor African nation- these people have ways and means to better their lives- it isn't always an easy path...but it is there.

I guess I cant't argue with these other fine folk on here who say that the homeless are taken care of. Although, I find that free meals, is not really addressing the homeless problem. Many of them have health problems, both physical and mental. Many people become homeless shortly after loosing their jos, which makes many people ineligible for assistance, because they previously made money. Most cities and municipalities simply move the homeless into somebody else's jurisdiction. Where I live, the police kicked out some homeless people, and trashed their belongings. The homeless are going to sue the city, for stealing their stuff. Good for them.
As far as stadiums go, who needs them. THe rich corporate types are the only people who benifit from the new, modern stadiums. They get the sky boxes, and live in the plushness. The general public benifits by the hiring of a few new hotdog and beer vendors. Big freaking deal! The average person, working at toys r us can't afford a ticket, and if they can get a ticket, it has to be one way out in the peanut gallery, and you can't see anything anyway, so why go? And people don't realize that your tax dollars go to pay for the stadium, and if the home team isn't full of superstars and having a winning season, the cost in tax dollars go up.

Perhaps a good way for us to pay for these new stadiums would be to gather up all of the homeless people, and force them to have a Gladiator-style fight in the stadium. I'm sure you could get 50 bucks per ticket. Then, take all the profit from the ticket sales and help pay for the stadium. If they did this every few years, we'd have alot less homeless, and much nicer stadiums. Now that's a perfect solution.

Most states do feed the homeless, it's called food stamps or EBT (electronic benefits transfer). They'll feed'em and give them insurance (medicaid), but they won't house them. However, most cities have emergency shelters available for a maximum of 30 days (these are provided by agencies such as the red cross or salvation army). There are also soup kitchens and food pantries available to the poor and homeless.

that is not unlawful in any state. that's foolishness to make regulation related to feeding the homeless. Charity is often good. If feeding the homeless is illegitimate Jesus will take care.

There is not one county in the US where the homeless do not have access to shelter, food, cloting and medical care.

NOT ONE!

I dare you to challenge this.....name a county and I'll find you a list of services and resources for the poor.

They are already rich, and thinking about the higher class people. They have no desire for the poor, or needy. They should invest that money to the people in need. This world has to much thought on themselves, and not for others.
