They are suppose to enforce the law, and arrest people who do things that put others in harm. They rarely, if ever testify against each other when a fellow cop goes astray. They protect them and show their moral bankruptcy. Aren't they suppose to set a good example for the communities in which they serve? How do they get past the psychology exam?

Should the govenment regulate social issues? Is it the government's place to allow or disallow a person's voluntary actions i.e. marijuana use, gay marraige, euthenasia, alcohol consumption, etc.? Are these laws valid or invalid in a free society?

Other things I'd like to know what you think about related to this are: what kind of power does each value represent and how do they relate to each other currently? What do you think would be their proper relation to each other, if there is such a thing?

Democratic politicians work hard to keep their voting public poor, dependant upon Government for jobs, for welfare, for health care, for cradle to grave protection and care. They are the party of High taxes, the party of government supervision over everyone, in order to facilitate this.
**In over 40 years of Congressional domination, why haven't Dems. corrected even one social problem affecting the poor???

Republicans work hard to keep you safe, to protect marriage, to protect the unborn child, keep taxes low, and promote independance from government, for a sense of self worth, free from the shame of welfare, and the freedom to live straight, gay, or whatever. Lowering taxes, they free employers to hire more ppl.
**This is not in dispute.
**Why don't more people want, desire to become rich Republicans?

the illegal immigrants seem to see breaking the law is no big deal. This is very hard for most of us in the U S A to understand, most of us grow up learning to respect the law, and laws. But it seems that for most coming from Mexico, that breaking the law is just a way of life. So I wish someone could tell, why ?

Does that sound like a valid, American like decision from "a US Federal District Court if Maine?" Or what Iraq might tell their citizens?

And for the rest of the Conservatives on here. Why do they come up with these obsene, extremely left attitudes and label all democrates to have them, when the majority of democratic voters are near the center?

It would be like the democrats characterizing all Republicans as totalitarian cavemen.

It took 4 months for them to admit i bought it then they made out i was not answering their letters untill the 6th Dec and they offer me what i got in court today +£50 so I do not think i could have made the time shorter. but thanks Brian

It's amazing how many questions and answers here seem to have no purpose other than to insult the other side. I have a hard time believing that anyone wants the US to become a facist dictatorship, and even a harder time believe anyone wants the terrorists to win. So why all the hatred and ugliness? Aren't we all in the same boat? There's got to be some things we have in common. Or are we all so set in our beliefs that we won't even consider others' viewpoints?

so wouldn't destablizing the Secular government of Iraq actually help the islamists by creating a power vaccum

I'm not really talking about the Republican party, because I have little respect for either party. However, I mean the ideas of old-school, or paleo, conservatism weren't bigoted, contradictory, or religiously inspired. They were pragmatic, often economically motivated, and strongly supported individual freedom.

While I may not agree with liberal ideals, I can at least respect them because they have not had an idiot equivalent to Bush destroy them yet.

My question to you is did you ever find conservatism a respectable movement? Do you now? If not, could you again?

Every time they refer to Sadr, they say "today in then news Radical Muslim Cleric so and so gave a speech...etc"

Why do they do that?

How about if they said

'Radical Christian President Bush'

'Radical Jewish Rabbi or President Feldstein'

'Radical Mormon Senator so and so"

he is deployed overseas in Iraq and fell in love with a girl whom he met over the internet on myspace. I know she is not a citizen, can he still marry her? is that even possible? Will they be allowed to marry there and if they are, is it considered legal? Or can he bring her back here and marry here in the states and would that be legal? This is driving me nuts. Most of you are probably asking why it does, but we have a 5 year old daughter involved whom i do not want to see get hurt.

Some people think that when James Baker presented the study group findings to George W. Bush, he was actually bringing a message from the extended Bush-Republican family.
"Change or face our strongest disapproval, The future of the family, the future of the party is at stake here". We will disavow you and there is no telling what will happen to you.
If Iraq explodes, the middle east may explode, we may loose our middle east allies (The goverments of Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt may fall. America will loose the oil connections, not to speak of our own personal economic connection). The democrats will gain control in 08 and there is no telling how far they will go with the public opinion on their side. This message has the blessing of your father and many of the people that love you and respect you.
