the illegal immigrants seem to see breaking the law is no big deal. This is very hard for most of us in the U S A to understand, most of us grow up learning to respect the law, and laws. But it seems that for most coming from Mexico, that breaking the law is just a way of life. So I wish someone could tell, why ?

Ok but they do not just stop with breaking 1 law, after that they use fake IDs, fake or even stolen SS cards, so it seems it just never ends.

Because breaking the law is a way of life in Mexico and they think the US should be the same way. Cops, doctors, and lawyers in Mexico are corrupt but you can always get your way with a bribe. Getting into the US illegally is just a natural continuation of what they´re used to in Mexico.

A law is only as good as it's ability and willingness to be enforced. Second, it only counts when you've been caught. Atleast from a purely legal sense. This country was ,for a pretty good period of time, based on a respect for law, right and wrong, coz if the police didn't get you God would. A mans word was his bond....and so on. If I was to do anything when I was little that was wrong....you bet my mom and dad would have been called. Now, people don't want to get involved or they're chastized for sticking their nose in someone elses business. Now it's knowing it's wrong and just mastering the skill of not getting caught. In Mexico....geeze.....being a police officer is probably one of the worst jobs to have. Unless you're fond of having your head displayed on a stick. It's sadly getting to the point where it's not much better here. We have a load of more people and not close to enough police officers to enforce the law. Not to mention an increasing number of officers who are crooked and being paid off. And increasingly having limits placed on them from inforcing the law. They're writing new laws daily and no means to enforce them. I don't even know for sure what's legal and illegal anymore. Depends on the state you're in, depends if there's enough police officers to crack down, depends if it's a big issue in your area or not, depends who you know and how much money you have. It's crazy. I'm sure many are just surviving the best way they know how. But I also know there's plenty who have studied the ins and outs and loopholes of our laws in order to break them and get away with them on purpose. The more people get away with things the further they push the boundry. It's a problem because our laws are not enforced or enforced equally across the line. It's unfair when certain groups get free legal representation and others have to pay. I mean where was the ACLU when I HAD to give my kids SS#, proof of residence, proof of shots for school, etc and now we find out you don't? Where were they when I rented a crappy 2 bedroom apt, fixed it up and then get kicked out after it was finished because my roommate was gay? Oh....I could try and fight it if I had the money to do so.....but there was no free group searching me out to fight for the injustice. There's no white Jesse Jackson or white LaRaza group running to my aid. I have to pay and can't. So we just try and behave and stay out of trouble. Until they actually make them pay for their crimes....it is basicly a free for all. I'm just tired of having to abide by rules when others aren't ......otherwise hey, let it be dog eat dog. Just keep the rules consistant.

Because in Mexico, the kids at a very early age are told that the U.S. is the place to be, and one day we will go there. Maybe not telling them its, illegal to cross without documents, but telling them that if you have a chance to go to the U.S. go and prosper. Many adults, mainly the ones living in border towns, don't get the concept that even though were are seperated by either a river, or a fence, one side is yours and the other side is ours. And for the most part, many just don't care. I am not saying that all of Mexico wants to come here, but I bet if given a chance they will. I do feel sorry for them due to the country being run by the Cartels instead of the gov't, and with that said, even the gov't does not care about its people.

Most of the people who break the law do so because the rewards FAR outweigh the penalties. If you have virtually no chance of any real punishment, why not take the chance.
With the illegals, what's the worst that can happen? They can get sent back home, and they are right back where they started from. No risk.

Jake I am a law abiding citizen of the US but if the shoe was on the other foot I too might be a law breaker. These people who are coming here illegally know they are not going to be welcomed as citizens and that they will be treated worse than citizens. They also know that they will still be better off than they currently are. It really doesn't matter why they come here (running from the law there, better job, persecution etc) they know that the US will not allow them to starve, or be punished in an inhumane fashion and they are not getting that guarantied from their own governments.

Jake,
In my experience with many illegal immigrants, they do not know American laws. Further, most of the illegals that come to America are looking to survive. They usually work very hard and put up with more crap then most Americans ever would, because they are grateful to be here and they don't want to be deported.
Illegals that break the laws on a criminal level against other people, are an exception rather than the rule.
Please don't view the whole based upon a very few.
Good Luck and Take Care

one of the primary causes of this type of lawbreaking is that Congress outlawed a behavior that has been historically acceptable, such as outlawing alcohol. if you outlaw behavior that enough people accept then the law will be flouted freely. we used to have a guest worker program so that the crops could be picked and the children cared for legally. when Congress decided to outlaw that, then demand required some to ignore the law.

Why are you so obsessed with this? Don't tell me you've never broken the law! You probably speed, make illegal u turns, roll over stops, etc. That's breaking the law. So, it's like monkey see, monkey do. Be an honest citizen, then ask for that in return. See, I can't "throw the first stone" because I am not free of sin.
