Following man's laws is ordained by God, - unless that 'law' is in direct contradiction with what's been written (on behalf) of the God of Abraham.
Less laws the better, and thank God our laws started out to be a reflection of God's laws.

Look, this is the simple way to put. The Federal Government passes a law and gives a basic line of how that law is to be followed and the penalties if those laws are broken. The state has to follow the Federal law. NOW, the state is allowed to elaborate on that law and create even stricter penalties, if the state deems fit.
So, God created the laws in the bible and man executes them in the form of government.
This is true in most countries, actually. Not just the U.S., but most countries in the world have built rules and laws based on spiritual beliefs.
If you have a spiritual way of life, you will see that it is easy to understand the moral "ideals" that are written in the christian bible and many other bibles. Unfortunately, sometimes the interpretation of the writings is misunderstood. I believe there is a special place in hell for people who interpret the bible to their benefit in order to sway the way of thinking of a particular group of people.
As to God's will, it is written down in the christian bible and in other bibles, as to the God of their understanding.
I believe that a true set of morals is very important. Otherwise, man would self destruct.
Good Luck and Take Care

This has been used to justify theism over atheism for a number of years, but it's not necessarily true. There are a number of reasons we follow human laws besides the fact that we will be "punished" by "God" or because "God ordained" the leaders. We do it because we are human, communitarian creatures who realize it is objectively wrong; we do it because we realize that it benefits us as individuals if we have societal rules and we all obey them; we realize that we can be moral without being spiritual.
Now not all people subscribe to this, but your conclusion is not necessarily true, either.

Let every person be subject to the authorities over him, for there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are ordained by God.
