The carpets weren't shampooed when we moved in (we did it ourselves because they were so dirty). He also didn't repaint any walls before the move-in. The place is already so much cleaner now than before and he is telling me I need to provide receipts from professional cleaners for both the windows and carpets. Can he do this?

Most conservatives seem to be disinterested with the idea of finding alternative sources for energy, recycling, eliminating the need for fossil fuels, and adopting an earth-friendly strategy. Why is this??

I saw this in a blog and it looks like a case of eminent domain abuse. Does anyone have any details or news stories that might shed more light on this?

We need to let the coastal states keep control of their water ways and not let the oil companys drill offshore and polute the coast lines, beaches, etc. The Republicians are planning on opening up offshore drilling. Why don't those states have the right to choose? The people of this America need to tell our government to quit making our decisions without our say so.

I was watching this movie called "Cry Freedom" in which a very important South African Black Consciencness Movement leader - Steve Biko - was killed due to simply trying to change the way of life for black african citizens. More than being moved by the death of this very pro-active leader, I was totally outraged that 700 CHILDREN WERE MURDERED during a celebration rally along with 4,000 people being injured. Basically what it boiled down to was white south african leaders killing political prisoners who didn't deserve to be in jail in the first place and the jailers having the right not to declare the cause of death. Some of the causes were: Fell 10 floors, self hanging/strangulation, asthma attack, mortal injuries,.....what????? What finally drove Donald Woods over the edge was that Steve Biko was murdered and the cause of death was - "self starvation". I know other countries are experiencing similar violations against human rights...so that's why I ask the question - WHY IRAQ?

Do you feel that more money should go to the homeless, poor, NHS, soldiers wounded in war etc. At the moment it seems that money is bieng sent to other countrys and while it does good in some countries, many that it is bieng sent to is just lining the dictators pockets.

One was an al Qaida loyalist!!

A terrorist plot to inflict death and destruction by attacking train tunnels used by tens of thousands of commuters each day was thwarted before the men could travel to the United States, authorities said Friday. Eight suspects — including an al-Qaida loyalist arrested in Lebanon and two others in custody elsewhere — had hoped to pull off the attack in October or November, federal officials said.

What is the FBI doing in Lebanon? They have no jurisdiction outside the US.

They can say anything I guess, hope they can prove something!

None of the people of the world truly like the leaders they supposedly elect. We all are forced to work for their benefit while they provide no social improvement, no improvements to our living conditions, our cities, our green spaces.

Our environment is dying, our world is on the brink of nuclear war, the people are broken. When will we all as a human race decide its time to take matters in to our own hands and ensure these exploitative and diabolical dictators no longer have access to run anything more than a neighborhood watch program??
