My fiance has been in Iraq since last September and I have been alone. Nothing could be worth so many people to be going without one of their loved ones that long, with a chance never to see them again. Ugh, how I wish it would all end

A criminal should be made to SUFFER for his crimes not be treated as a victim (like we do to our criminals in the UK). The learning experience should start when young - that is when people learn.

For example. A 16 year old steals from a shop. he should be made to break rocks in a quarry from 6am - 6pm - real HARD LABOUR until he has served out a given set time period. Maybe he should work with only 1 meal a day or work in bare feet in heavy chains.

If you agree - you care for more the victim

If you disagree you are a pc do-gooder who is concerned more for the lawbreaker than the real victim or the law.

So what are you?

Is the landlord required to file an eviction. I left in January 20th and the landlord did not file a claim until May

All i ever hear is how france sucks and they are hated by the world. But w/o them, we wouldn't have won the Revolutionary War or gotten the Statue of Liberty.

I'm writing my final dissertation for a degree in Politics, I am particularly interested in International Security and terrorism and have specialised in these areas alongside American politics and International Relations. Problem is, I can't find a dissertation topic! I know how to go about researching, but I need suggestions of topics for inspiration!!!

Dont you think that when someone breaks into your house and steals all your stuff - he should be made to pay for it?

Lets say that he steals £3500 worth of gear. The insurance company replace the stolen items and then add on their operating costs - so £3500 may become £4500. Then you have the cost of the investigation by the police. So a £3500 theft could cost maybe £10,000 in total costs including insurance, police and the courts.

Should the guilty party not be put into a place where he works at say only £2 per hour to pay back the cost of his lawlessness?

This has to be better than a fine because he learns the lesson that we have to pay for the stuff we own - not steal it.

The law in the UK is a donkey.

A guy who robs a house can get away with a £150 ($200) fine !!!!

This needs to change - and while he is in the workhouse paying back his debt to society he can get all the counselling he needs - and our insurance costs or tax will not have to rise to pay for him.
