As time changes ideas change. I'm not exacly sure what "ideas" liberals hate so much that our country was founded on but I have a few ideas.
Gun control: Many just believe that stricter laws and rules concerning firearms would make us safer.
Taxes: Many believe that by raising taxes on certain people they can alive pressure on others.
Government: Liberals believe that a large government can better administer the country.
I'm not sure what other founding ideas there are...

The basic problem with liberals is that they only want freedom if they are in control. The are afraid of free thinking people. I always remember what Hillary Clinton said when helping Babba run for president. Something about we are here to make the decision for all of you, (meaning us). And that "We know what's best for the American people". Hell, she doesn't know me and never will. Liberals are big believers in the ACLU which as you know have been trying to take away our civil rights for years. No God in school and movements like that. Yet they have no problem with Clinton getting serviced in the White House by Monica and no one ever getting charged with the White Water scandal. Not to mention the killing of unborn babies. The left wing liberal is just another name for communist. They don't support the troops and hope every day that more and more are killed just to prove some sick point they are trying to make. If that's not treason I don't know what is. They always complain yet never have a solution to our problems.

If the Founding Fathers were placed on today's political spectrum, they would be as liberal as you could get. They supported a Keynseyan economy (laissez faire with more governmental restriction), liberty over security, and freedom of speech, all of which are trademarks of liberalism.
P.S. Idiots like you who generalize and accuse without factual basis are detrimental to any form of progress. If you want to debate a liberal, let me know, but dont just criticize and run off while the dust settles.

Actually, It is the republicans that seem to not understand the Constitution. Free speech and press? Nope. Patriot Act and Freedom of Information act took that away. Protection from illegal search and seizure? Due process? Gone! Now we have wiretapping and citizens held without trial. Don't seem to remember this being the case with Clinton or Carter. Hmmm...

what ideals, that white ppl r the best, and that we should put down anyone who is different? those rn't the ideas the US is founded on. we were supposed to be a country open to everyone, no matter what, a nation made by immagrents. and now u stupid conservatives wanna get rid of the immagrents, and opress everyone who isn't rich and in polotics.
not to mention the wars u get us in for stupid reasons. the US originally was to stay out of other countries affairs, not rush into everything and take it over.
lets talk about another one, freedom of speach. something taken away by the "patriot bill" the government has no right to be listening to our conversations, and we should be allowed to say whatever we want. that another thing that the US was founded for u took away from us.
and then, u add in the fact that bush has cheated both times he ran for president. i mean really, i could be pres if my bro was govenor of Florida too.
try finding out a little bit more about what we were founded for b4 u try to put us down next time, stupid conservative trash.

Its seems to me that liberals are more protective of the ideas that America is founded upon. They protect freedom of speech more than conservatives. For example, recently the only people who could be counted on to vote against the flag burning amendment and protect our right to that form of speech were democrats. Also, liberals don't constantly try to undermine the principle of seperation of church and state, the republican party is pratically the first religous political party in american history. The liberals in america are the ones protecting the ideals that america was founded on, not the ones trying to undermine them.

I used to be a "Conservative" until you left what the US was founded on. All mean are created equal - unless you are gay or black or red or yellow.
Freedom of religion - or lack of - please stop trying to get me to join your church if it discriminates against anyone.
Separation of Church and State - That is to save our classrooms from having to say 27 different prayers in 14 religions every morning. Maybe I perceive God differently that you - I am not full of hate - but I don't have to handle snakes.
By the way, I am not gay. The Conservatives would probably like to kill all the gays - but then more are born tomorrow. Shall we come up with a test that can tell if an embryo is going to be gay? And if it is, then it is ok to abort it?
Conservatives are hypocrits!

If it weren't for liberals you would not have electricity in your home in which to power your computer in which to spill out this garbage. If not for liberals you would still be taking a crap in the outhouse. If not for liberals you would not have clean water in which to quench that fitly mouth of yours. Before you attack a group of people you really ought to get your facts straight. By the way Jesus was a liberal so I figure I am in really good company, can you state the same?

I wish I had a real answer for you, but unfortunately there is no logical answer. Most (all?) that know me think I'm "too liberal to be a republican." However, God (yes, I said God!) created me with a brain. Therefore, I opt for the intelligent decision/logical option rather than getting the trendy Democrap t-shirt or embarassing bumper sticker.

I think that the liberals that you are talking about believe that their way is the only way and that they are more "progressive" than conservatives. However, what are they progressing towards? Is the world that they believe the future holds one we really want to be moving towards? It obviously isn't one the founding fathers forsaw for the US as a nation. In fact its pretty much a polar opposite lol
