Do you feel that more money should go to the homeless, poor, NHS, soldiers wounded in war etc. At the moment it seems that money is bieng sent to other countrys and while it does good in some countries, many that it is bieng sent to is just lining the dictators pockets.

Yes, I feel this way. I love how Angelina and Brad are doing great things for another country - but wouldnt it be great if people like them could find a mission right here in the states to work on?

I see homeless and poor children right down the road from our home. I see people dying of Aids in our country and other diseases ~ I see the wounded soldiers, the people without insurance...

I love what Faith Hill and her hubby are doing for Louisianna - and think more should pool together to help our country.

absolutely. it may sound selfish, but if we can't even help ourselves, how can we help others.

On the flip side: the countries we've been aiding for along time, if we cut our aide the country will crumble, because they are dependant

The counter to that is: if we cut aide logically and methodically from long time and short time aidees, they should be able to stand...then when were done in our country, we might be better off to help them or countries in a worse situation.

however the marshall plan worked well with upping our economy by aiding the allies, so we could help ourselves. we sold them weapons for money (obviously) which helped us get out of the depression...so it all depends on the form of aide.

sending aide traditionally ($) then yes. other forms (like the marshall plan) no

Yes I do because I know that money is an accounting practice only and poverty could be lifted in one day, but the people that set the values can not allow that because, they would no longer be rich and powerful, they believe that god sent them to lead us, what a bunch of crackpots

absolutely,, conservatives complain about social programs constantly,, seems to me,, Republicans would rather ship the wealth of America overseas,, keep the floodgates open,,, where are the terrorists,,, over there,,, over here,,, every where,,, the US should have secured our borders 9-11-01 before the attacks by bin Laden's network,, or at lease by 9-12-01,,, did George W. Bush let down AMERICAS as he was reading "My Pet Goat",,,, I think so,,, I thought so then,,,,,,,, those who can think rationally, now,, see the lies of the Bush team...(Perhaps the US government should have put uniforms on our homeless population) and armed them)..

this might seen rather cold---but we need to look after our own before others---and i think when we send aid to countries the neediest do not always get it because of location --they might be in the mountains --landslides might block entry --the government might block entry-- what we should do is get the whole world in on these situations and make leaders aware of the world as awhole know their peoples plight and remove the monsters from power

Yes! We are doing busy trying to fix the ailments of other countries, while neglecting our own. The saying holds true: "In order to help others, one must help one's self first, otherwise, one is in no condition to aid anyone."
