Okay, to my understanding marriage is a religious thing. Marriage is something sanctioned by god or cermonies/rituals for other religions. So why is the government involved? I thought there is something in the consitution stating "separation of church and state." If ppl who are homosexual want to get married I think that is something that should be up to the priest or person who marries them. The only reason I can see that it would be a state problem is when it comes down to taxes and things as such. Is that what the deal is over? I personally don't care who gets married to whom, thats a personal choice, but I'm just trying to understand why such the fuss?

My brother does not have enough money to hire an attorney. He's going to be appointed a public defender, but I'm nervous that he/she may not be as competent as a hired attorney.

Be honest… would you pay 10-15% more for an item if that item would help keep the manufacturer from moving to a foreign country to produce it? Think about how much you are now paying for gas and the cost increases in food and other products due to the price increase in gas, with the National average creeping up to $3.00 a gallon. Also consider that your total cost increases would rise and your monthly budget increased by $100.00- $300.00 dollars based on the price for goods and services produced in America. Would you be willing to pay? How much more would you be willing to pay? Are you willing to take your message to these Corporations and ask that they continue to produce their goods here rather than Mexico or China? Could your monthly expenditures take that kind of hit?
Just some things to ponder…

We always hear campaign speeches and promises from the candidates, and after the election, very little of what made us vote for the candidate gets done. Let's change the election process so that a candidate's promises must also be filed in the form of a detailed legislative bill that complies with the Constitution. The bill(s) automatically become law when the new president is sworn in. Only the Constitution could not be ammended in this way.

yestaerday, the whitehouse confirmed that the WMD found were out of date, and not the weapons they were looking for in 2003. Then, the conservative supreme court ruled against a Bush backed railroad company, that used illegal retaliation against a woman who filed a sexual harassment complaint. Later in the day, a handful of republicans derailed a scheduled vote on the voter rights act, that would renew it for 25 years (this is the act that prevents discrimination against black people's voting rights) Then, to top it all off, it was released that the government is receiving information from Chase bank on accounts from Americans inside the U.S. Then, they asked two newspapers to not release the story. You all had a busy day! Any plans for today?

Its not like it is really independent - the US services it and make the keys bits for the warheads. It will cost £25Billion. And you can't nuke these terrorists (what you going to do? Nuke Dewsbury?). Would UK prestige suffer because they don't have nukes and the French do? Is it fair to make the US shoulder the burden? Do the UK's 200 warheads make a difference anyway?

Fidel is still doing well despite it. The rest of the world has recognized his government. It seems that only the poor are affected.

The U.S. has cut deals with communist China...even in the midst of the war in Vietnam allegedly to fight its spread. So its not really about communism.

Republicans try to be as insulting and condescending as possible to win a point or to shoot down a good point. That incites feelings of rage in many people all over the world. Could be wars are started just because Republicans in power refuse to listen to anyone else and speak in such a manner. Ann Coulter is a perfect example.

I find myself full of anger at the fact that we, the American public, who are suppose to actually be in charge of this Country can't effect much of anything. While the government debates Gay marriage, gas prices go to insane levels and those who were on the brink of poverty are now having to make a choice (especially in small towns like mine where public transporation is not avaliable). Do I spend money on gas to go to work to make money to feed my family or do I spend the money to feed my family and not on gas, don't go to work, lose my job and become welfare or worse? Its' happening. But our government still thinks Gay marriage is a more important debate at the moment. (important, but not at the moment)

Well, I felt I needed to bring this to the table and see the responses. I notice that the US does nothing to protect the people here on US soil. We haven't closed our borders, we are over populated with illegals, we drop food for other countries but we don't feed our hungry first, and living expenses are ridiculous these days. How is one supposed to survive when bills are always going up and salaries are remaining the same or jobs are filled with immigrants?? What is this country's problem? When are they going to protect Americans? I know this will be controversial so I am interested in seeing the responses.

This is the perfect time to vent it all out!
