It seems that people choose a career in the police department, not just for a secure job ,but to be above the law itself ,you know the type i mean-they walk around like john wayne with their hand above the gun ready to shoot anything, but hoping it is not a real criminal that confronts them .

It seems that whenever anyone is remotely not praising the Americans the majority of american answers accuse the questioner of hating America. Is this just a massive inferiority complex or just a few misguided souls getting america as a whole a bad name.

Figurehead is all he is. He's old too. He's probably going to die from natural causes before we find him. If he dies from cancer we'll probably take credit for it.

Why does it matter if he's dead? Honestly.

Lord Falconer's proposed speech about the victims' advocate scheme - the Americans have had this for years! Tony Blair states that there is a growing gap between the Criminal Justice System and what the public expects - whose fault is that - the Government make the Laws and are responsible for their implementation.

I mean "republican" in the general sense, not the US political party.

Question aimed especially at those countries that still have Her Maj (our very own Brenda) as Head of State. Would you ditch or keep the constitutional monarchy? Why? If ditch, what would you put in its place?

Why is that all the negative things you see in the media is related to Islam, like the the recent guys arrested in Miami, they weren't even Muslims, as the media reported it, same thing to John Allan Mohamed, the sniper who IS NOT also a Muslim. The name doesn't make you a Muslim. Let's really start a war and see who is true to their god. I am not promoting war and voilance, but I am for true justice, by hand when the system is un just.

people always want to take the words "god" and tear down crosses. i don't think theres one thing that christianity teaches thats a bad habit.a memorial to our heroes in san francisco will be destroyed, because an atheist did'nt like the cross on it. some sleezbag lawyer, which i mean in all the offense i can, sued the city for it. they won the case. changed Christmas in to Winter. Do people really think crosses and holidays of giving are bad things!? thats a load of bs if you think that. i'm serious, its a big issue in america.

If taken to logical extremes, it appears that the ultimate goal(s) for many US conservatives (fiscal +social) would be:

1. Tax cuts until there is virtually no revenue stream.
2. Military funded strong enough to conduct 4 or 5 minor wars simultaneously.
3. Domestic police powers funded & expanded to render search warrants unnecessary, coupled with endorsement of police violence and cruelty in prisons.
4. Select Old Testament passages would become law.

Am I missing anything?

Official figures this year put public spending per head in England at £6,762. But in Scotland it was £8,265 per head, a difference of £1,503.

Taking two cities Edinburgh and Sheffield this means the Governemtn spends about £650 million per year extra on services etc in Edinburgh and equalsums on all oher Scottish cities.

My guess is with £650 million pounds extra every year even Sheffield could become a city of culture, enterprise, tourism etc.

I am sure the poor people in the deprived areas of England are not aware of this.

I don't agree with everything he does or stands for but I'm curious as to why people that hate him never use specifics. They simply say, he lies, he's evil, he's a moron. What specifically? No sweeping generalizations please?
