Lord Falconer's proposed speech about the victims' advocate scheme - the Americans have had this for years! Tony Blair states that there is a growing gap between the Criminal Justice System and what the public expects - whose fault is that - the Government make the Laws and are responsible for their implementation.

Absolutely. Could not agree more. He's been in power nine years and suddenly he's noticed it's not working.
Crucially too, did you spot how he says it's time to redress the balance, not between victims and criminals, but "victims and suspects"? Not that he's planning on getting tough with people convicted of crimes, but that he's planning to strip away still more rights from people who are simply accused of crimes. People fought and died for centuries to win those liberties and judicial protections but Tony "imprisonment without trial" Blair, reckons they should go. Dear God, imagine if Mrs Thatcher had come up with this lunacy. We thought she was a mad old witch, but she didn't charge us for going to university and if George Bush had told her to get busy with invading Iraq she'd have told him where to stick it.

I wish it were as easy as that. It seems that there are not enough people asking this type of question to raise any eyebrows and to start dealing with this. It is an ongoing situation that just cannot be left especially to others to just pick up and action. You have to keep on and on and especially in the right ear, if you know what I mean. Remember women's rights, what had to happen their, I am not expect people to chain themselves to railings before being heard or something to be done because of this, but there are channels to go down and a hell of lot of brick walls to go through or climb. It is all to do with time!!
